Kaveh and I are hosting a celebration as detailed above. RSVP with him if you wish to attend so that we can make the necessary arrangements. You may also do the same with me, but note that I have changed my shellphone ID to the one you currently see.

[Kaveh kind of snorts. He should have seen this coming, but he's still shaking the cramp out of his hand.]

You're certain this wasn't to show off your username?

The network has proven itself to be the fastest way to facilitate mass communication.

[Just kind of huffs it out as he places his down his shellphone after making the post. What's with the sass, senior, he's just saying it like it is!

...but also yes, maybe to show off his shiny new ID. Even if nobody will ever know the significance besides Kaveh. His senior knowing is enough.]

An irrefutable fact that, I notice, does not at all address your motivations.

[Kaveh huffs a laugh, but comes and perches himself on the edge of the desk anyway.]

[Alhaitham simply looks up when Kaveh moves to sit at the edge of the desk, the faux innocent expression on his face a perfect match for the guileless tone in which he uses to speak his next words.]

Is there a problem, paradisaea?

No, no problem...but it does give me an idea.

[Oh. Those are very dangerous words coming from Kaveh, aren't they?]

[They are, but its far from the first time in which Alhaitham has heard them by now, and past experience has shown him that those usually lead to good things, so—]

And what might that be? [He asks, with the corners of his lips curling up into the slightest hint of a smile.]

[You know, after the shitshow with the corpses and hottest person contest in the last week, something jocund is needed to sprinkle some joy back in their lives. What's more merry than a wedding?]

Surprised you two hadn't already tied the knot given the times you guys bicker like an old married couple. Congrats.

[He sincerely means that, he's not being snarky. Yet.]

Well, my memory is still fairly hazy, but I seem to recall someone wouldn't let me write any names on them...

[He sniffs at this unimaginable cruelty, by the way, before putting a finger on Alhaitham's chest--right over his heart.]

But I wonder...if Paradisaea wouldn't work just fine here. [Kaveh hums.] Naturally, I've considered where Vultur Volans would sit in return.

[ Wait. He's getting an invite to a wedding? Sherlock? Or no. He's not. This is just a general public thing. Status quo remains unchanged. ]

[Alhaitham snorts lightly at Kaveh's thinly disguised affront, but glances down to where his senior is pointing, taking only a second before it clicks what is being asked.]

Perhaps. [He returns easily, looking back at Kaveh with one slightly raised eyebrow.] But it would only make sense for Vultur Volans to match where Paradisaea lies.

[Turns out it never was that hard at all. The answer had always been there, right from the start.]

[He sounds casual, but Kaveh is actually quite thrilled about this. He's just as silly as Alhaitham about matching.]

I suppose it would be polite to offer some congratulations.

[ And sympathies because whatever is emotional is opposed to that true cold reason which Sherlock tries to place above all things lest he bias his judgment. (He fails at that a lot more than he likes.) ]

Are you expecting a murder to take place?

[ The last time he was invited to a party was to investigate a murder. Sherlock Holmes does not get invited to social gatherings. ]

No? Why would we be expecting a murder at our wedding???

You are inviting Sherlock Holmes. No one invites me anywhere unless there has been some crime, most often a murder.

Thus, you must be expecting at least a crime for I cannot see any other reason why I would be invited.

If you can tell they're meant to be compliments, do they really need working on?

Sure, why not, could be fun. Last time I attended a wedding, it bombed. [Badum tish] Do we gotta dress up all nice in tuxes and dresses?

I am certain Alhaitham will commit several crimes against aesthetic taste because I am letting him pick some of the decorations, but that's hardly the point.

We are asking you as a friend, because we wish to share our joy. Is that not reason enough?

I'd appreciate getting dressed up but if you don't have anything fancy I won't force you.
