[ Emet-Selch has heard of the tradition of throwing out a message in a bottle to sea of course and has never even once entertained the idea that the bottle would ever sail back with a reply. It's silly - the bottle is more likely to sink in a storm or be cracked open. But the lack of expectation does mean that he also sees no harm in simply throwing one out for the hell of it. It's not like anyone can trace it back to him.

Should you find this message, you'll see it written in an elegant script that a modern human would find a little dated. ]

My dearest friend, it seems you will soon go to confront that embodiment of despair which resides at the farthest edges of our universe. I think you have the strength. I never should have doubted that you did. When we faced one another we each of us gave our all and, though the end result should trouble me, instead I feel only peace. My duty at long last is at an end.

If I had to name one regret, it is that I can't see your journey through to its end. I would have liked to have been waiting for you if, by some absurd quirk of fate, you did fall. No-one should have to make that final journey alone, after all.

[ With that written, he places the rolled-up message in the bottle, flings it out to sea and watches it be borne away on the tide. Once it's out of sight, he turns and walks away. ]

(ooc: Feel free to tag with your own random bottle message or actually reply to his writing.)
