Some are friendly, some are more aggressive. Some are super common, while others are like legendary creatures, cryptids, or even 'Gods' with their power. So far there's about over a thousand known Pokemon species, with variants and variations even then.
It's a pretty wide spectrum. Pokemon used to be feared, but in recent centuries, they've become friends and partners to humans.
[Since the person-- kid? was curious... And double checking the info with Turo to make sure he wasn't posting nonsense--]
From what he's told me, Pokemon who want to pair up with humans sort of... jump them out in the wild and challenge them to a battle. A competitive, non-lethal sort of way, more like a sporting competition. Like a fencing match or wrestling? If the 'Pokemon Trainer' manages to get them to stay inside a pokeball-- used for transporting Pokemon around, they become that Pokemon's trainer and guardian. They have a whole system based around pokemon battles and contests... It's pretty different from my world.
Can't stay I dislike it though, from what he's shown me. I can send more of his pictures if you want?
