[--Huh. This kid must've been from a small world, to think a thousand was a lot. Considering his earth had... at least several Million, but you know--

No need to break the kids brain with that, yet. Focus on the 'cool' Pokemon--]

Yeah, it's pretty damn varied. Even in his country or region, there were caves, tall snowy mountains, sea side beaches, cliff tops, lakes, wide plains-- even a desert.

[Oh boy, okay-- Time to see how much he's taken in from listening to Turo explain things--]

So Pokemon have 'types'. 18 of them so far. Different types are stronger or weaker against others.

Like- Fire is Weak to Water, Which is Weak to Grass, which is Weak to Fire. And a Pokemon can have two types that interact with one another.

The 18 types are-- Normal, Flying, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Bug, Poison, Ground, Rock, Ice, Ghost, Psychic, Fighting, Steel, Dark, Dragon and Fairy.

Iron Thorns, the green guy, is Rock/Electric. He can control rocks and use electricity at will, along with other stuff. While Iron Bundle, the Penguin giving him the hose down is Ice/Water-- so he can produce water or an ice beam from his nozzle tail like a fire hose.

And in that other picture I sent you, Growlithe and Arcanine are pure Fire types. While Eevee starts off as Normal, and can evolve into 8 different types depending on how it grows-- here it evolving into the Fire type, Flareon. They're both good at just producing fire from their mouths to battle foes.

[... Reading back over this, he wasn't sure if he should be proud of himself for remembering all this, or a little embarrassed he did take it all in. But-- Pokemon were just... interesting, and Turo really made it easy to understand.]

Let me grab another picture...
