[The device turns on, a curious reindeer with a blue nose being rather close to it.] Is it working? It's on now?

[And then he notices it seems to be working and tries to hide. Only to still have about two-thirds of himself still visible anyway. He is still not quite grasping that concept of cover, and hiding meaning he can't just keep peeking out like that.

Still, after a bit, he returns to the device, picking it up and tilting his head, his ears shifting as he inspects it again.]

Hello? Um....I'm Chopper. Tony Tony Chopper. I was wondering if there are any of the other Straw Hats here. If not, I guess I'll figure it out myself. But um. I'm a doctor. So, if anyone gets hurt or sick, I can try to help. I just got here so I'm still figuring this place out. But I'm sure I can manage! It's a whole new world to explore! A whole new map to discover! And lots more delicious food, like cotton candy!

[Right? He's got this. Totally got this. He isn't actually absolutely terrified at being here alone at all. And wasn't just bawling his eyes out upon finding himself initially without familiar faces. It's not like this sort of reminds him of being left alone on the Merry to look after it while the rest of the crew went off to find their precious gold.]

Okay, um, this isn't like the phones back home, I guess I just push this....?

[Cue a teeny hoof pushing the button to hang up. Look at him figuring this out!]

[Simply shrugging raising his upturned palms to the skies Denji purses his lips.]

Nope never heard of them...Sorry dude. But hey they could show up anytime so I wouldn't give up hope!

[He sure hadn't given up his quest to revive his best friend from beyond the grave that he's been so tirelessly toiling to attain.]

[ An ultimate treasure hidden by a king of pirates. No wonder so many pirates are searching for it. No matter what it is, even if it's just a single piece of something, finding it would be one hell of an accolade. ]

If that is your captain's goal, why take the time to help people? Surely that must slow you down and run the risk of other pirates finding the treasure before you do.

Even if we're after the One Piece, we can't just leave people that need help. Besides, you never know if you might run into them later and need their help next time. And I'm a doctor. I couldn't even leave the Marines who were hurt from being out in that storm without treating them.

[They're good guys. Really. They just also go along with Luffy and his hijinks. Most of the time.]

I showed up. So maybe they will too. I just gotta be patient.

....There isn't some way to figure who shows up or not?

Yeah I guess so! Never know who's gonna show up or leave. I had a friend here for a couple weeks then she left so it's pretty random.

[Shrugging his shoulders with a shake of his head, Denji cannot definitively answer that question.]

No idea. Maybe the MANTA center but I kinda doubt it.

A couple of weeks? That's barely any time at all.

[Cue adorable reindeer pout. Still, he latches onto any potential clues.]

You think they might have something? It's worth asking.

Yeah...It sucked super bad but what can ya do? People come and go all the time I even got sent back home but was brought back here after about a week or so! But it was way longer than that for me.

[Shrugging his shoulders Denji tries to be a bit optimistic for Tony's sake.]

Can't hurt to check, right?

I hope they're here. I don't want to be alone.

[He wasn't completely alone. But it still kind of feels like it, without any familiar faces and all. Chopper isn't used to being completely on his own without the others, without any of the crew around along with him. Even when they might separate at times.]

I feel that...I've been the only one from my world for a long ass time besides Power being here for that short time. I've even been trying to bring my friend back from the dead so he can chill with me here!

[Denji trying the near impossible and right his own wrongs killing his mentor and older brother figure even if he had no other choice, saving innocent lives that would have been murdered unjustly in Aki's bloodlust addled mind with his body taken over by the Gun Devil.]

Trying to....ehhhhh? You can do that?

[Chopper is aware of people showing up from different places. Sure. But not necessarily different times that people could come back from the dead? He's still figuring out about this place yet and how it all works. But he certainly isn't expecting something like that.]

A doctor?

[ Zelda visibly perks up. This interesting-looking fellow is a medical doctor? (Come to think of it, didn't he mention that earlier?) One of her first goals for Hand and Hearth is to establish a ship that provides medical aid and healing to anyone in need. Everything has been going well on this front... except for recruiting any skilled doctors or healers. Zelda has been working on a few alternatives to deal with this shortcoming... but actually hiring a doctor would make everything a lot easier.

But she's not going to just spring a job offer on a newly arrived riftfarer right out of the blue. Best to keep feeling things out for the moment. ]

How does a doctor fall in with a band of pirates?

Well, Nami was sick. So they brought her to our Island and I helped treat her. Then they were saying they needed a doctor for their ship. And I figured, if I traveled, I could help more people, learn more....

[Well. That and Kureha was kind of encouraging it, making Chopper flee when he tried to come and say goodbye to her with her having thrown knives at him. There was also that. But. Details. Still, he is honest about that. Genuinely does want to help and learn where he can, to be a better doctor, to better treat others that need his help.]

Been trying my damn best but nothing has worked so far...Doesn't mean I'm gonna give up though one way or another I'll bring my friend back from the dead because he deserves to live!

[A brief pause as a solemn sigh escapes his parted lips slumping into an oversized chair in his apartment looking towards the ceiling thoughtfully.]

I didn't wanna kill him but had no choice...Aki was gonna murder a bunch of people who did nothing wrong and it wasn't really him anyways! The Gun Devil took over his body so I kinda did him a favor.

[Yeah that might have been a lot to divulge all at once to basically a complete stranger but subtly wasn't in Denji's vocabulary.]

Oh....I see. I'm not sure if I know of anything that could bring someone back from being dead. I can do surgery and use medicine and all, but I can't do that. Unless there is something here that could do it. I only recently got here, so I can't be sure if that might be the case, and I don't know yet.

[Which is entirely possible. Chopper is very new here yet. So of course, there are still some things he is still learning and navigating. At the least, he gathers that this is a complicated situation where the other did something to try and protect others and stop his friend hurting more people.]

They say there are these things called 'relics' that are super powerful and could maybe do the trick but I haven't found jack shit that will work yet.

[As for the use of surgery or medicine, Denji simply shrugs his shoulders at that pointing a thumb to his chest with a cocky grin.]

Who needs surgery and all that kinda crap when all I gotta do is drink some blood or eat some flesh and it will fix me right up! No big deal!

I did hear something about the relics or some sort of treasure....

[Chopper pauses at that. This is.....somehow worse than dealing with the likes of Zoro....oh no.....]

[ Learn more and help more people... That's exactly what Zelda was doing by traveling across Hyrule with Link. She wanted to learn all about the new Hyrule she found herself in after one hundred years sealed away.

She chuckles. ]

That's the same thing I was doing before I arrived in this world-- traveling around Hyrule to learn more about it and find out how I could help people. I'm a researcher, you see. My name is Zelda.

[ She keeps her royal title to herself. It's been the best way to keep herself safe in a world full of pirates (no offense, Chopper). Plenty of people would want to kidnap a princess; no one would bother kidnapping a simple researcher. ]

A researcher? I see. So, your goal, your dream was sort of the same as mine. I mean, not that I'm from Hyrule. But still.

[Chopper would still have no reason to kidnap her, even if he did know about her royal status. But he can appreciate the caution. He himself is well aware others back home might be after him, or react to his appearance at the very least.]

Yes, very much the same. In fact, that is why I am putting together a relief organization-- to help people here in this world and perhaps even learn a little more about it in the process.
