Hello everyone, this is Azul Ashengrotto speaking. I meant to put out this news sooner to everyone, but due to certain events that have taken place, my ability to do so was delayed until now.

[re: he got fucking kidnapped. yes, he's still mad about it, and no, he doesn't want to talk about it right this second.]

As some of you may know, there are very few things that I as a mage would be considered incapable of brewing, enchanting, or crafting a spell or potion for. [nice ego fluffing there azul] It came to my attention last month that there was a string of incidents involving the "Thornbind" disease that had begun to crop up: for those unaware, it causes vines and thorns to grow from the infected person's body and can be extremely dangerous if left unchecked. Luckily, I have managed to develop a cure that has proven successful after the tests I've done with it and from checking in on the people that I have given it out to thus far among the locals. Thus, if you or anyone else you know of are in need of it, please let me know. Anyone that would be willing to help with delivering the medicine to people, or to any of the nearby clinics and hospitals would also be quite appreciated right now. As for other ailments one may be experiencing in this place [you know, the brands they've all gotten lately, which he is not going to discuss too loudly here just to be safe] ... well, that may require more research and discussion among other like-minded mages or researchers like myself to come up with a solution for. But as always, my door is always open to any soul in need of a specific wish granted on your behalf, so please do not hesitate to ask if you have any requests to make for me here.

I have heard of this Thornbind disease and the toll it has taken on many. I count myself fortunate not to have contracted it, though I can scarcely imagine the suffering endured by those afflicted.

I am considering compiling a reference. An archive of sorts of the various diseases and ailments unique to this world. With your permission, Lord Ashengrotto, may I include your findings in this collection?

Sure. I did take notes during my various tests and research results, so if those will be of any help to you, I can certainly gather them all together for you to take a look at and read over for the purpose of archiving. And of course, I'm interested in seeing any information you've gathered so far for this reference archive as well.

[It is completely necessary. Shouldn't you be resting?]

There have been many such ailments. I recall one in particular. A sickness that plagued its victims with vivid nightmares of drowning, while their bodies grew bloated and waterlogged despite never coming into contact with water.

With more of these strange afflictions emerging, I believe it would be prudent to do this. A comprehensive reference detailing each illness, its symptoms, and most importantly, how to treat them.

Goodness, that sounds terrible. I'm glad that I haven't had to deal with something like that... But yes, you're absolutely right. It would be best to gather as much information as possible on this subject, and prepare a reliable guide that can be used to help inform and combat against such ailments.

As far as I know, the number of cases have decreased drastically.

That is what I hope to do. Your discovery of a cure for the Thornbind affliction will be an invaluable addition. It will help immensely.

I'm happy to hear that. So, when would be a good time for you to have us meet up and exchange information on this?

[Hm? Azul hears the knocking, and thus gets up from the table, puts his stack of papers down as he approaches the door.]

[What's up, Azul? The brands on them begins to burn already, but Leona's always been good at ignoring that kind of pain.]

[Ah, right... there is a problem, isn't there. He nearly forgot about this, thanks to staying in his apartment for the past few days since his return from that abduction.]

Sadly, no. I've been labeled as a Paladin here.

[Oh. He probably should have guessed that, given the hiss of his own brand starting to burn when he steps up to the door.

Still, Azul opens the door all the same: Leona is the reason he was able to escape when he had gotten abducted, after all. It would be rude even for Azul to deny the other man entry after all that. Besides, he's felt worse pain than this anyway.

Leona will be able to see that while Azul does look significantly better than he did on that day, Azul is definitely not in top form either. He's got his magipen in staff form so that he can use it as a cane for support while he stands here, with bandages that can be seen at a slight peek creeping out under his sleeves, as well as one at the corner of his mouth on his face. He's fixed his hair today, but whatever make up he put on today doesn't hide well the bags under his eyes, clearly still not having slept well yet even after no longer being confined in a small tank.]

Did you want to come in?

[A glance over. Bandages peeking out, the cane as support. Looks better than before, but not a hundred percent. Which only means that yes, the octopus hadn't been sleeping since he got him out of that place. Not properly, after all.]

I'm going to give you three minutes to find a place to lay down and sleep before I knock you unconscious myself.

[Yes, he came all the way here for this. Willing to experience the burn from the brands, but that's not important. Azul isn't his main concern, but until more of their world shows up, he's still his...not quite an ally, but someone familiar. In a twisted way, he feels almost responsible for him. It isn't that much different how he'd look out for Ruggie back home here and there.]

[Yeah, okay, that gets Azul to falter before he can go through the motions of how he usually deals with guests. What the fuck, Leona.]
