I'm used to pens, not quills, but I can do beautiful writing if that's the part you need.

[He excelled at one thing, and it's really just the same skillset: beautiful writing and beautiful sigils. The latter doesn't mean much in this world, but maybe he can do something with the former.]

you guys don't use quills and inkpots?

I'm sure some people do, but they were fairly out of fashion by the time I was in school. Pencils and fountain pens, mostly.

did you have spend all of school with ink stains everywhere with those?

i remember worrying if my fingers were going to be stuck black once!

They can stain a little, if you go too slow. But nothing that bad.

How long did that take to scrub off?

depends on the day

my ma sure didn't like trying to clean the ink off of me or my clothes
so sometimes i'd go down to the river with my mates and we'd try to wash up before we had to toddle home

probably still some ink prints on the rocks from us

Yeah? Sounds pretty damn impressive. To me at any rate. Guess I didn't actually grow up near the water.
