Wanted to leave a quick note and thank you to everyone who helped test my little inventions last month. They should be finalized and ready for official public release next month, but as promised those who helped will receive theirs earlier once ready. Just let me know where to send them off or I can contact you for pick up later.

On that note, I wanted to inquire if anyone had any requests or suggestions as to what I, or any other inventor here, should work on. Whether it's improvements or some alternate version of something that already exists here, or perhaps something similar from your own world.

While I am working with magitech, I am more interested in electrical and mechanical engineering, and I'd rather stay away from weaponry unless it's more for defensive or nonlethal use. So anything of that nature will be more my type.

She's making sure he's keeping his word, and she tosses his phone to the couch, the screen landing face down before she's reaching for his shirt.]

Tough call, both have their advantages...

[She's already started working on the laces of his shirt, chuckling quietly as his phone buzzes from the couch again.]

Otherwise, I'll just choose for you.

[Top or bottom. Her or his phone.

Not that the choice matters, it will all end the same way.]

[He can hear it buzzing, but it's not like he has to respond right away. It's why he chose that particular medium, after all. Easier to have multiple conversations at his own pace, similar to writing letters but with faster return. A true marvel, really, but of course the real marvel is standing before him.

He knows what she's trying to do, and who is he to say no? Not a bad time for a "break," as he's sure she would call this little "disruption." If it's like this then maybe such an arrangement isn't such a bad idea—]

Well, you're the one who says I shouldn't work too hard.

[His own hands now move to her waist, pulling her on closer as they slip beneath her shirt.]

[Her eyes roll playfully, but she's already nudging him in the direction of his bedroom, the front of his shirt falling open further as she pulls out the string notch by painstaking notch.]

Very well.

[She kicks the door shut behind them with no shortage of force, the slam masking the next buzz of his phone—]

In that case, I suggest you lie back and relax. Don't work too hard.

[—and shoves him down to the bed, her knee wasting no time nudging his apart so that she can climb between them.]

There are various phenomenon that differ in a few regions that cause changes in creatures native there, and can endanger them or anything around them if not monitored. Still, people and these creatures have lived in harmony for many years to the point we've managed to find peace.

I have studied the phenomenon that occurs within the particular region I'm from to the point I figured a way to harness it so that people that have proved themselves capable can use it. So while different here I do have a small foot hold to start with in figuring things out here somewhat.

I would be happy to share them, as that could only help.

Rem Tokimiya has mentioned engines before. What does the engine do?

I think the key is understanding that is in the cause and effect, so it's good to hear that it's working out over there.

How would you compare it to this world so far? And are you considering the elemental crystals as part of it?

It has helped quite a bit, and a reason I am hoping the same can be applied her. Even plants can show subtle but very telling signs, and eve habits of growth can show it.

There is far more outward magic- in my world creatures known as Pokémon are the only things with abilities that could be counted as elemental magic. I am, given some of my expertise is in crystal, and manipulating their energy for other things. Tera crystals do magnify the power behind Types- or specific elements, if you will. The fire crystals remind me a little of Fire Type Tera crystal shards enough that with care I believe I can refine them in a similar way to use as a safe power source.

With some testing, of course.

Making an engine would be the best thing for all of us. It would expand our ability to explore! [ In her world, it also opened up a slew of new ways to exercise war, but... c'mon. There's no war here! Just the occasional skirmish, usually committed by the corsairs. ]

I'm only learning, but want to contribute in any way I can. I'd like to learn from your expertise, too.

It would be nice if it could also aid in the brewing of tea.

Mind explaining more about what you mean? Particularly do the crystals drain or absorb from their surroundings, or do they produce the magic themselves?

It might be possible. They have small motors on some of the boats, and I've built an engine for ships before. On that toy island, although rudimentary I was able to create something like a basic engine with the building blocks. Was more of a wind up type rather than using a heat source to power it, but all the concepts are there. Just a matter of designing it to an appropriate scale.

The key differences would be the time to brew coffee and steeping the tea, and the water temperature I believe. There would also be the different filters and strainers between coffee beans and tea leaves...

So there would need to be different settings that could easily switch between the two different processes.

Perhaps you can bring it up with your other mates, see what they think.

It's a device that helps move an object with its own source of energy, rather than relying on wind, water, or some other external force.

And with the right kind of fuel, you could have something the size of a chair move something as large as a small boat on its own.

The crystals produce the energy, given they themselves are the source of the phenomenon I spent so many years studying. They can reflect various elements depending on the type of pokémon they might have shattered from- or formed around the den of. A reason they are capable of empowering a pokémon, making attacks of a certain Type so much stronger.

Honestly, it was quite fascinating.

Are these not things that can already be done with magic?

How can I say no to that?

I'll keep tinkering with a music player in the meanwhile. Spincrystals don't seem to be how people record music here but I might be able to manufacture those, too...

Not everything can be solved with magic, and you never know what's down there. If there's something that can be dispel magic, then you're as good as dead.
