You could also research curses in this world to see if you can find anything that may help in the lifting. This venerable one studied many texts to try and determine the cause of the sleeping curse and ways to break it. Difficult to do when the demons that caused it were so troublesome to find, but insightful reading that may be useful in the future.
If the entire springs are cursed, then it may be the source of the springs. Since so many are gathered near to each other, it is very possible they all share some of the same source water. And where it pools up from the ground determines where the effects of the curse take root.
