[Daqiang assumed it would have been brought up as well. But G'raha had never mentioned a lover. Or a love interest. Not beyond hypothetical traits that G'raha found attractive.]

But there's something strange about all of this. Zack's still pretty drunk but even he can tell that this guy seems ... almost upset to hear the news.
Which of course makes Zack wonder what's going on.]

[Alright. He has no idea what's going on here. How he's supposed to take that "this venerable one" captain of G'raha's thinks that G'raha is "his" to protect. What does that even mean?
He may be drunk but he's not stupid. From the sounds of this man, it sounds as if he has some complicated feelings about G'raha. Deeper feelings. And that's not something Zack is comfortable to find out about.]
That's a weird way to talk about someone. G'raha doesn't need anyone to protect him. And he isn't yours either.

All those words. He wanted to tell this person that it wasn't his decision to make. It was G'raha's. But it sounded like G'raha had already made that choice. He simply failed to tell Daqiang when it happened. Because he thought Daqiang knew. How could he have known?
Daqaing's eyes slid to the side, unable to hold contact with even the camera as that uncomfortable feeling in his chest churned with something that felt a little like being stabbed.]
G'raha tia is part of this venerable one's crew. He has asked that this be discussed in private.
