Hello, and good day- I am Professor Turo for those who I have yet to meet.

This message is more for those of you that also visited Snaxburg Island and either had one of the creatures there follow you off of it, or may have... unfortunately eaten any of them.

[As he spoke, Turo's tone may have remained calm but there was a serious note to it. There did happen to be a Strabby perched on the desk behind him, a pink bow tied around it, which Turo did know was around but didn't know was there at the moment. There was, however, one he did know was going to be in frame.

Held very much like a hamburger he lifted up a BBQ Bunger so that googly eyes were facing the phone's camera.]

I do in fact mean those creatures like this- for those who might not have gone to the island, or even those who may need a reminder. These creatures that are known as Bugsnax are parasitic creatures that only have that nature turn into something dangerous upon being eaten. So again-

[After setting Chipotle the BBQ Bunger back down.]

Do not eat the Bugsnax, they are parasitic in nature upon being consumed.

If you have eaten any of the creatures found on Snaxburg Island, we may need to have a word or more. Please do get in touch.

...Bloody hell, I know monsters are often used for meals, but I wouldn't have never thought to take a bite out of one of those.

But a parasite? Really? What exactly are the dangers or signs?

It is something hard to believe, but more than enough evidence exists on the island itself.

After consumption a part of your body simply turns into what it was you ate. Apparently if enough was eaten the entire body would mimic the appearance of whatever Bugsnax were consumed in various parts, and would continue to do so.

At least the first danger sign would be craving them in order to start that.

So... You mean to say those who consumed these "Bugsnax" will turn into one?

Limb by limb, yes. In time those who once inhabited the island became part of it, quite literally.

...Not a pleasant thought that those who were eaten may have consumed former people...

Even if in a 'recycled' state, given the state of the island itself beneath the otherwise ordinary surface.

Right, well a warning is all well and good and hopefully word will spread. However, I do fear what could happen if these were used for more nefarious, deliberate purposes than pure accidental consumption.

Other than downing some ranks' numbers, the largest benefit would be to what could be in control of that island itself. Signs of something much bigger were there, but not if it were active.

My Captain already wishes to pose the idea to set up a sort of quarantine -or any watch- around the island, for safety's sake. Any help in coordinating that would be welcome, even as I work on a report to present to EAGLE, the Paladin's branch of MANTA.

[That gets a concerned arch of the brow, but he'll nod along.]

Very, very large tunnels- I did not stay long enough to explore given the area I had fallen into was still rumbling, so I escaped.

[Miraidon was very quick to climb out of that area.]

Just keeping an eye out will do well.

Tunnels, eh?

[Hmmm.]

So were these bugsnax hostile? Or the island had any other hostile creatures?

[fractales]

They are- well, I can send you a picture.

[So you know how in cartoons stomachs are—]

Some were territorially hostile, others would come attack the moment they spotted you. Others will run and hide. There were no other animals save for them that I saw.

...Disturbing.

[And evident by the appalled expression on his face.]

Aye, better to keep these things contained. Wouldn't want them spreading everywhere else...

Indeed, reason I did not linger down there overly long- outside of taking a few pictures.

[The oversized food, stretched out and disfigured as if something had tried and failed to copy it, making up additional space on those red organ-like walls and partially flooded floors.

The reality of the island, there under the surface.]

At the very least it appears the creatures cannot reproduce, outside of the large ones made of multiple pieces- and that is more them falling apart than creating new life. The island itself is what... births them. Reason my Captain believes the island itself being contained needs to be looked into as soon as possible.

I should say it's fortunate we haven't seen any of them elsewhere so far.

Who is your captain, by the way?

Outside of those who have had one follow them- but they are harmless so long as not consumed, at least. So far.

Moon Supreme, Dongfang Qingcang.

Dongfang?

[There's clear recognition and a smile at that.]

Well that'll make things easier. I'll send him a message. I don't know how much I can offer, but he can at least know if he needs some extra manpower I can send a few to assist. Might even have some who would be interested in helping with research that won't be swayed to try the devils.

[A nod then, head tipped slightly to one side.]

It would be appreciated, as I do feel it is all worth studying further while being well aware of the danger. If nothing else, time that can be taken in order to learn how to better deal with them, should something happen and there is more than one island like this. Even if restricting the island and the waters around it otherwise to help keep things contained.

I will be sure to. There is still quite a bit that can be looked into, including in other books if this is not the first time the island has appeared.
