Hello, and good day- I am Professor Turo for those who I have yet to meet.
This message is more for those of you that also visited Snaxburg Island and either had one of the creatures there follow you off of it, or may have... unfortunately eaten any of them.
[As he spoke, Turo's tone may have remained calm but there was a serious note to it. There did happen to be a Strabby perched on the desk behind him, a pink bow tied around it, which Turo did know was around but didn't know was there at the moment. There was, however, one he did know was going to be in frame.
Held very much like a hamburger he lifted up a BBQ Bunger so that googly eyes were facing the phone's camera.]
I do in fact mean those creatures like this- for those who might not have gone to the island, or even those who may need a reminder. These creatures that are known as Bugsnax are parasitic creatures that only have that nature turn into something dangerous upon being eaten. So again-
[After setting Chipotle the BBQ Bunger back down.]
Do not eat the Bugsnax, they are parasitic in nature upon being consumed.
If you have eaten any of the creatures found on Snaxburg Island, we may need to have a word or more. Please do get in touch.

[The more input and clarity at the start, the better their chances of convincing enough people to organize. He had run an army and a court and in doing so, a country and it's people. He understood the crawl of bureaucracy even with being at the top of it.]
While there is not currently and urgency in doing so, this should not wait too long either. Will the end of the month or middle of next be better for you? To give you time to contact those you need to and organize it?
Or would you need more time than that?

He could have missed something key, would have taken longer, if not for her there.]
This would give the needed amount of time, even while keeping in mind the importance- a sort of leeway where it may be finished sooner than that. It will also give me time to add the photographic evidence that may help show just why the quarantining of the island is necessary. [Didn't go in deep- and he hoped there was no head of what could be a hive mind there. Would one form in the absence of the original?] The island itself should still be studied incase it is able to grow, to prepare, but I would rather there be no accidental spreading to the other islands, or the Leviathans.

[He would leave Turo to decide of informing them to expect something in the near future was important or to leave it until the actual report was prepared.
Daqiang made to leave, curling a lip at Chipotle, but paused before he stepped from the room. Remembering himself and that he hadn't just come here to ask more of Turo.]
This venerable one... also wishes to express his appreciation for your presence on the crew.

He still had some faith with the Paladins- but it was shaky at best.
Turo paused then, shellphone moved back within view so he could copy down some images as sketches to better work with his notes- find the details that way.
A soft sort of smile was there in his expression.]
It has been an honor, truly. I fear I would not have gotten far on my own, and I feel as if here I am able to offer my best. You have helped make this a place I feel as if I can belong.
no subject
Is there something this venerable one should do to correct this?
[As one of his people, his crew, Turo shouldn't feel like his place was in question.]
no subject
Turo set his pen down carefully.]
I suppose it is something that lingers from back where I am from. A worry; knowing just what I was, I still am, and faced with it before my arrival in this world. [Yet he had still made a wish that this world, in a way, was fulfilling despite being so far from-... could he really consider it home?]
It has overshadowed much more than I thought. Which makes it more something I should do- forgive my manner of asking, but are you able to sense there is something... off about me in some way? Compared to a 'normal' person. Or perhaps I should say different, rather than off.

[A tilt of the head and a frown, then a shallow nod.]
Yes. You are not mortal. You feel like a demon. An awakened object, perhaps. But you do not hold the cultivation necessary to have obtained a mortal form. There is also no magic on you that would speak of a transformation spell. So your presence is odd. However, it is no more odd than many others this venerable one has encountered in this world.
[And because Turo's presence was so similar to a yao, he hadn't thought much of the minor oddity at all.]

[There was a small nod of his head- and he wasn't surprised something had been sense, given what he had come to know from his time there amongst the crew. Watching and listening.
His head bowed somewhat before speaking again-]
I am one of a kind in the world I came from- and something kept secret as well. Never meant to be known by, nor see, the open world. Made in the likeness of my creator with most of his memories, but all of his knowledge. In a way, I am all that is left functional when it comes to his life's work. An Artificial Intelligence in a mechanical body, charged with guarding his garden of paradise that could also assist him.
[By tone alone it would be clear his creator was no longer alive, of course.]

In the Three Realms, an immortal can use their primordial spirit to craft a double of their body. They can task it with acting on their behalf in some manner. These copies are often fragile and easily destroyed, but can fool the senses as they feel in all ways, exactly as the being they came from.
This venerable one has never known of one outliving it's creator.
[He moved to come back into the room and look Turo over anew.]
There are also objects and animals that have been immersed in spiritual energy enough to cultivate and develop their primordial spirit. To awaken and become intelligent. Some are purposely awakened by an immortal who wishes to have a servant that is trained exactly as they need them to be and serve specific purposes. They often remain in that service after their master no longer needs them and has moved on to other works. Even in death. Yao, being not part of their master, can remain after their master has entered the cycle of reincarnation, should that occur.
[It should be clear which of the two categories Daqiang was mentally slotting Turo into. Even if he mirrored his creator more directly than most awakened objects, he was able to function and act on his own after his death.]
Do you still follow the purpose your master gave you?
no subject
Failure hadn't been an option, but there had been enough to skew the man's view to the point of making a fatal error.
He listened, watching Daqiang, as his head tilted slightly. Taking in every word—]
I did, until I could not justify ignoring the danger his work was going to bring to the region, and even possibly the world. The risk of the son all of his work was for. [A son that had been left behind, and didn't know to what extent until--] What I did, taking the steps to shut it down and essentially destroy his life's work, was worth saving those lives that would have been lost if I had continued the tasks given to me. The destruction of the place that was home could not be allowed.
What I do here- I still want to help, but it is broadened to more than my creator. Pursuing a life of my own, studies, and using what knowledge I have to... help.

Among the Moon Tribe, such a breach of filial piety would be looked down on, but not necessarily punished. Because if it was done to prevent one's master from betraying the Moon Tribe, then it could be seen as just punishment enacted on the master in question. Betrayal was the worst crime one could commit in the Moon Tribe. Not personal betrayals, those were family business. But betrayal of the people as whole.]
This venerable one is not the head of your family, nor are you sworn in service to him. So he cannot forgive for your personal crime against your master if his son has not chosen to do so. But this venerable one sees nothing to condemn you for within your confession.
If you make this ship and the people of it your people, so long as you do not betray us, then you belong. If you feel you must earn that place, then know that you have earned it and did so months ago. This venerable one will hear otherwise no longer so do not speak in such a way again.
[He raised an eyebrow.]
If you desire a means of proof to others, this venerable one will grant you a title within his court.
[Daqiang didn't personally see the need for such displays in this world, but Moon Tribe saw titles and positions as a reassurance of ability of the one who held it. If someone did not have an ability to maintain the title - such as having another challenge them for a position and win - then they were clearly not as capable as the other.]
no subject
He hoped that Arven and his friends were safe, and doing well--]
Thank you, Moon Supreme. Hearing that is... far more reassuring and appreciated than I can put into words alone. I belong here, and I will work as hard as ever. You have been more than kind.
[His head tipped towards the opposite side. A title.]
I do not know if there is a need, but the offer alone is an honor.
[Felt so much had already been done for him during his time as part of the crew.]

[He straightened his sleeves and made ready to leave now that Turo's uncertainty had been resolved.]
This venerable one will leave first. However, if you have further uncertainties, you should not feel you cannot bring them to this venerable one.
...and put a bell or something on that creature.
no subject
[Turo bowed his head in more than just a nod of acknowledgement, looking briefly towards Chipotle- already having thoughts of just how he could comfortably fit something like a bell to the BBQ Bunger.
It was manageable.]
Should any come to mind, I will be sure to. You are easy to speak with, so I find, after all.
[Which was meant in all honesty.]
Of course; better not to have them sneak up on anyone, or anything- while also identifying it as known.
