Hello, and good day- I am Professor Turo for those who I have yet to meet.

This message is more for those of you that also visited Snaxburg Island and either had one of the creatures there follow you off of it, or may have... unfortunately eaten any of them.

[As he spoke, Turo's tone may have remained calm but there was a serious note to it. There did happen to be a Strabby perched on the desk behind him, a pink bow tied around it, which Turo did know was around but didn't know was there at the moment. There was, however, one he did know was going to be in frame.

Held very much like a hamburger he lifted up a BBQ Bunger so that googly eyes were facing the phone's camera.]

I do in fact mean those creatures like this- for those who might not have gone to the island, or even those who may need a reminder. These creatures that are known as Bugsnax are parasitic creatures that only have that nature turn into something dangerous upon being eaten. So again-

[After setting Chipotle the BBQ Bunger back down.]

Do not eat the Bugsnax, they are parasitic in nature upon being consumed.

If you have eaten any of the creatures found on Snaxburg Island, we may need to have a word or more. Please do get in touch.

Perfectly alright, as unfortunate and worrisome as it is, any bit of news you deem noteworthy could help further knowledge. More so if others somehow manage to do the same.

And will be added to the note I am keeping on the entire matter.

...Though I should be more honest. I'm the one I'm the most worried about. It's true that my friend ate more of the Bugsnax than I did, but...

You've my thanks already, and hopefully nothing more worrying than this already may be.

I do apologize if this warning frightened you, I have a feeling it has to be nerve wracking to find out something that could look so innocent -even if strange- turned out to be- well.

Easy to get in touch with me through these shellphones, and once I'm back from sea I'll be seeing about finding ways to perhaps counteract this. Not to make them safer to eat, but more for those who may come later, should they be able to get to the island. The entire island is... well, made of them.

It was an important warning to deliver! I really do appreciate it. We would have been caught entirely unawares if not for your word. Yes, it was nerve-wracking, [ flashback to five minutes ago when she was halfway into a panic attack ] but you don't needn't apologize for how others react.

In hindsight, we perhaps should have exercised more caution in eating unfamiliar wildlife, especially... plainly and without any preparation. I'll be careful moving forward.

This did make me wonder if there are compiled accounts of new creatures discovered by Riftfarers here. It would be a useful resource for new arrivals...

A rather sudden and hard lesson, but better to be learned sooner than later. I hope the two of you fare and recover well, without anything happening. I do hold hopes that faring from various worlds could have biologies differing enough on the microscopic level that they won't take root so easily, but that would require more study- some of which I would rather not do due to the fact it would mean the necessity of consumption to some degree.

More than incidents like this, I mean.

I know that I have been, given one particular line of research I am deeply familiar with is of strange and at times mysterious creatures. Part of my job in the world I am from.

Of course in my opinion the more people that do so, the better information that can be gathered and compiled. The animals here have been utterly fascinating, and I help run a sanctuary for those that are injured or otherwise misplaced due to incidents of this world; be they man-made, natural, or magical events.

Though she gets to meet many people of many walks of life at home, too, it's certainly different in a place like this, where they're all made to adapt to their new surroundings, to forge new lives. It's been interesting to see how people make themselves.. at home, so to speak. She's not really begun the hard work of integrating, but it's inspiring to see how others have. ]

A sanctuary! That's truly remarkable, Professor. I'm sure you're able to learn so much more about the wildlife here that way, too, in addition to helping the poor things.

Once I'm sure that the effects of the Bugsnax parasites are more or less gone, I mean...

Quite so! I was also more than happy to assist Nanaki when he brought up the idea to me, his wish to create such a place. I am glad that it has been made a reality, even if together -and with those who volunteer time- it will take time to grow further.

I want to see it through to become something as grand as both he and I wish it to be.
