Hello, and good day- I am Professor Turo for those who I have yet to meet.

This message is more for those of you that also visited Snaxburg Island and either had one of the creatures there follow you off of it, or may have... unfortunately eaten any of them.

[As he spoke, Turo's tone may have remained calm but there was a serious note to it. There did happen to be a Strabby perched on the desk behind him, a pink bow tied around it, which Turo did know was around but didn't know was there at the moment. There was, however, one he did know was going to be in frame.

Held very much like a hamburger he lifted up a BBQ Bunger so that googly eyes were facing the phone's camera.]

I do in fact mean those creatures like this- for those who might not have gone to the island, or even those who may need a reminder. These creatures that are known as Bugsnax are parasitic creatures that only have that nature turn into something dangerous upon being eaten. So again-

[After setting Chipotle the BBQ Bunger back down.]

Do not eat the Bugsnax, they are parasitic in nature upon being consumed.

For my personal testing I have been using refined Tera crystal- but I know I can do the same with, shall we say, a fire crystal; I simply have to adjust a little in my handling of it.

I can also use certain types of glass, or a regular crystal, to act as the magnifier for the energy in creating a barrier shield.

Please don't tell the Humans that the current power source for the newly invented defense is best obtained by hurting you.

(It's Turo, they feel the need to drill this into his head.

Like, come on, designing the prototype like that is just asking for some asshole to start wondering if there's a way to get Tera crystals instead of having to find another power source ..)

So far only you and Dojima know that I can.. produce them. I arrived with shards, and it has been easy enough to leave it at that. I have also designed the prototypes in a way that if someone tries to remove the Tera crystal an energy feedback will be produced and cause it to shatter completely.

Also a reason those that I may ask help testing will only have fire crystals as the power source and a different energy magnifier.

Clever.

I'd be interested in knowing how the fire crystals work out.

Given the amount of power a refined Tera crystal can produce, it was for the best incase someone discovered that and tried to take one for more destructive purposes.

So far they make an excellent power source, so long as the heat they produce is accounted for and focused well to use as energy.

Figures.

Think they could be used to power more mundane objects?

Certainly they could- I've made a lamp that is powered by a refined fire crystal for instance.

I've still a few in my possession, along with earth and air crystal I collected from the island with dragons. Still studying them, of course.

Can they be found places other than the dragon island?

I'm not incredibly sure. The crystals -fire, air, earth- seem to only be found where there are high concentrations of their element seeped with magic. Likely behind their formation as well.

There could also be other elemental crystals that exist, we've simply not come across them as of yet.

Well I guess we know where you need to go if you get low on charge.

(Makes sense. Magic fuels Turo's crystals, it also fuels the growth of these crystals.)

If you're gonna use them for this it's probably good to find sources that are available year round.

I haven't needed such a thing yet- other than my usual engagement of sleep mode so my systems can rest, my charge has remained at a constant.

I fear that may not be possible simply due to the nature of this world- but still, creating these as some sort of emergency back-up if something ever does happen is a very good idea. May take a while to develop, of course.

For now.

(There are a lot of things that could change that. They know he's not getting maintenance here, how long will he last without it? What if something breaks and he ends up struggling to hold a charge?

He's a complex and highly advanced machine in a place where there's almost no access to the things needed to maintain or repair a complex and highly advanced machine.)

Alright.

For now- this world can be unpredictable at its best.

At least if anyone asks about this particular project it is easy to say it is for other reasons, too.
