[FIRST: You get a very close shot of Lashan's eye as she squints at her shellphone. We have here that double-doozy of a medieval and an old person and while she's pretty sharp, these devices are not intuitive to her.]

[aka 'the light's on'. The video pulls back a bit but like, it's still pretty close and the angle is unflattering. This whole thing feels completely unnatural to her and the lines between her brows are deepened in a frown.]

I'm Sister Lashan. I'm a lay sister, not a nun. I've made some charms for waterproofing. They're not well-tested though. If you help me with that I'll give you one. Want to know their tolerances and if I have to tweak anything before I start selling them. I'm on Elrut.

It's unfamiliar to me. [and her first instinct is Dislike] I can see the utility, though.

That's what I'm looking to find out. They're a version of something developed for heavy rain and incidental stuff but immersion in salt water's not the same thing.

Little park called First Lantern Memorial. Looks like it's honoring a ship that disappeared a while back. It's not that far from that bird woman's herbal shop.

I have a Sister like that. Figured out how to make a crossbow and a horse-powered mill based on descriptions. [Mechanical stuff makes no sense to Lashan, but she's proud of the girl back home.] I'm guessing your field is different.

[Lashan does notice and grins sardonically. Cid's one of the older-looking people she's seen here, but she doesn't take it seriously. Outside of her homeland, she's spent her life not being someone men want, except ones who prefer other men in which case, no thanks.]

Hah! Tell me that in, what, thirty years? All the stupid things you did as a kid and walked off come back in one way or another. I'm not sure humans were meant to get older than fifty or sixty.

You would be surprised what a lot of grit and spite can do for someone. But I know that well, I assure you. Recent years have made me regret a few of my own foolish acts of "bravado."
