This last moon or so I've been speaking to several people about magic and the ability to use magic. Now I understand we all come from varying stars - worlds, realms, whichever you prefer - and the laws governing such arts may differ.

Thus I find myself curious about how others are able to cast their spells. I certainly wouldn't mind an exchange of knowledge on the topic. In fact, I've already offered to conduct some lessons to some individuals here as an experiment, of sorts. I, myself, am no great mage but I am capable enough, I should hope.

Our options are few. If you are not born with the ability to use magick, you need to use a shard of the Mothercrystals to do so. But with that comes a limited stock, so those who are, Bearers and Dominants, are made to use what we naturally have. As you said, this indeed puts a burden on the body, ultimately fatally, but as I said, people think so little of us that we end up disposable. Once the curse takes you, they'll find someone else to replace you.

[A pause and then:]

I know not if it will carry over, but while you are here, I would like to alleviate that burden.

[She's quiet as she mulls it over. He's ultimately right and arguing just for the sake of arguing wouldn't do either of them any good. Besides, Jill has to eventually work through the trauma and damage the years have left in her--even if she doesn't actually have the words to put a name to it all.
