I could use a bit of advice myself, so it would seem. Initially, I had thought to also hide my identity. However, I realized that it would do me little good. With what I've to ask, I fear it might be a touch obvious.

Thus I ask: what would be a good gift to celebrate one year of being with your partner? How do I present it to him when we don't have a specific date? Officially, that is.

A silly thing to ask, I know. I suppose I would simply like for it to mean something and seeing Cassiopea only brings it to the forefront of my mind - to ensure that with the time we are granted that I express myself appropriately.

I think he'd be thrilled to get anything from you. Cook him a feast, perhaps...does he enjoy accessories? I'm afraid I've only met him once or twice, so I haven't a good idea of his hobbies.

Try to get him something he likes or would greatly appreciate. Alternatively or additionally, you could take him to wherever you first hooked up for a date. If he's not much of a date guy, you can always just spend a night alone with him.

[He can't really say he's been in a relationship (any real relationships if you want to be technical) long enough for anniversaries to come up, that however tends to be the solution his "suitors" try on him.]

He is a simple man and the "salacious" option would, indeed, please. Though it is as you say, anything would and that's what makes it so difficult.

It's almost harder to get gifts for someone easily pleased than for someone picky, isn't it? Hmmmm. Maybe play a song for him then--if it's to make the occasion special, it needn't be a physical gift.

Perhaps you could get Fair an article of clothing that can hold tools. He seemed impressed when I pulled my lock picks out from my stockings and my magnifying glass out of my bodice. He called it "making use of the free real-estate."

Oh. That would, indeed, be quite sentimental. I'm not sure that I could entirely recreate the event, but I could come up with something similar.

For me it would be more items like crystals or extra space for potions or vials to put specimens in.

You may need something more than stockings for that. However, if you are not intending to hide the fact that you have them, then you are freer with your options. I had to use my disguise as best I could.

[Hmm. An unpicky lover...well, Kaveh doesn't have much experience with that, given he has been granted care of the Pickiest Man Alive, but he does sympathize.]

A song is certainly going to create a lasting memory, which seems to be the goal more than material things. I'm afraid I'm always predisposed to make something with my hands, by nature, but since we're talking about you and Mr. Fair, I think this would be a good solution.

But back to more important matters. Who cares about something like eating? ]

I suppose it might be time, yes, for a change. We've exchanged many material items. Mayhap a memory or an experience would be the better way to go about this. Goodness knows we could all use happier memories to lean on.

In truth, I do not feel as though any of those truly encompass the depth of what this person means to me.

I needn't reproduce to pave the way for future generations. Righting the wrongs of the current era and leaving it better for them to inherit is enough.

Those individuals will shine brightly, of that I have no doubt.
