[Standing upon the water's edge of Eltrut's beach, Denji can be found skipping rocks into the depths of the ocean proper. His focus on the crashing waves with his bare feet absorbed by the rushing waters, a stoic expression washed over his features as he sighs solemnly.]
 

So who else had shitty parents growing up, huh?
 

[A small pause before tossing another rock into the sea, plopping himself down onto the ground before turning his full attention towards the feed.]
 

I don't remember much about my mom she died when I was real young from a heart condition but at least she wasn't around to see how big of a prick my dad turned out to be. He was a real piece of crap all my life until he crooked and left me with his problems too. 
 

[Denji wasn't about to tell the masses what actually happened to his father after finding out none too recently but that was besides the point here. A half amused burst of laughter erupts as he tries to lighten the mood a bit grinning fiendishly.]
 

I can't be the only one around here with an asshole for a parent so what's all your stories?

[A thoroughly amused grin quickly forming over his lips.]

A demon...That's kinda like a devil, right!?

[Pointing a thumb to his chest as he beams a confident smirk.]

I'm a devil hybrid myself so that basically makes us like cousins! But I turn into a Chainsaw Man not some sorta animal.

I cannot say if I am similar to a devil. {Since he has never encountered a devil.}

What is a Chainsaw Man?

I think they are basically cousins or something even if I've only seen devils in my world they are both from hell! At least I'm pretty sure...

[Voice trailing off when the other asks what 'Chainsaw Man' is, Denji's shit eating grin widens from ear to ear.]

You're looking at him! One yank of this chain here on my chest and I turn into the badass devil itself.

I am not from hell. {He was actually born closer to heaven.} My mother resides in a large mansion in the sky.

Were you born with that chain? {If not, someone is wicked!}

A mansion...In the sky!? So like it floats around and shit?! That sounds cool as hell!!

[At the latter questioning Denji shakes his head explaining the situation for probably the one hundredth time here but it's cool he doesn't seem to mind in the slightest.]

Nah- My pet devil Pochita gave me its heart to save my life and I turned into what we call back home a hybrid who can turn into devils!

{It really isn't all that special to him, but he is a powerful demon who could probably have a floating mansion of his own, so.

Also, even with that explanation, he is clearly puzzled.}

Where did you find a pet devil?

Actually he found me after my dad died...Pochita was bleeding real bad so I gave him my blood to help him stay alive and we made a deal to help each other survive.

[A brief pause as he looks down to his wrist where the devil had first sucked his blood and made their contract unknowingly at the time.]

{He is not thinking highly of Pochita.}

He used your misery to benefit himself.

[Denji scrunches his nose up before shaking his head in complete disagreement at that response.]

Huh?! No way dude!! Pochita was my best friend and without him I would have died way before that piece of crap Zombie Devil chopped us both up. I also wouldn't be standing here today if he didn't sacrifice his heart to save me!!

[Looking down to the pull string which protrudes out his chest with a disheartened glare.]

He saved me when no one else gave a shit...I'll never have a better friend than him.

You are no longer human. {Is he even speaking to a once human? He wonders.} Did you ever ask yourself why he did those things for you?

I mean I'm kinda still human?! Most of the time anyways unless I yank this pull cord and change into a badass Chainsaw Devil.

[Denji shrugs at the latter questioning.]

Not really, Pochita just said he wanted me to share my dreams with him is that so bad?!
