[ good afternoon esco network!! today's video brings youuu...


and then drayton's arm coming into view to scoop this adorable noodle up and focus the camera on his face! which also brings into view the... three other dratinis draped around both himself...

and a very very unimpressed-looking kieran in the background. the dratini kieran is carrying is a cute shade of pink compared to its grey-blue siblings. ]

What's up! Man, we've had a fun couple of days. Turns out that whole Dragon's Gale thing doesn't mess around, even if the dragons aren't locals.

[ there is a slight strain in his cheery tone that might be attributed to the menacing dark aura kieran is giving off behind him while he says all this. ]

Long story short, we've ended up with this bunch'a baby Dratinis on our hands. They're cute as heck, and pretty well-behaved, but any Dragon-type that's gonna spend some time around humans should have some socialising. So we're givin' everyone a rare, excluuusive opportunity to interact with these adorable lil' guys while we, uh, decide what to do with 'em.

[ the dratini he'd picked up at the start makes a pleased trilling noise, one matched by the pink one kieran is holding. drayton smiles, still slightly strained, and lowers the camera so he's just out of frame and begins talking offscreen in hushed, but still audible tones. ]

Man, c'mon, at least say somethin'!

("Say somethin'?? This is your fault anyway! Why should I say anythin'??")

Again, how is this my-- ahh, hold on.

[ the feed ends with a clatter. ]

So they're more dragon-type pokemon, huh? How'd ya get so many of 'em?

[and why is this somehow Drayton's fault, as Kieran says?]

[In comes Kieran, looking much more annoyed and irritated than Angel's ever seen him.]

It's probably 'cause someone was bein' irresponsible with his Pokemon.

[Still, despite his irritation, the little pink Dratini around his shoulders wiggles closer to get a better look at Angel.]

[ at this point if kieran's gonna keep infringing on his camera space he's just going to lean on him. ]

I literally wasn't, but we've been goin' in circles about this for days now. [ sighs dramatically. ] The actual answer is we've both got Dragonites, which these lil' guys eventually evolve into. The ex-Champ's is male, mine's female, and I guess they thought Dragon's Gale sounded like a great idea.

[angellust]

[oh. Angel waves at the little pink dratini. he's friendly, promise]

Dragonite was that big orange one, right?

[he remembers! ah, to be young dragons in love, or something. fun. Angel will keep his mouth shut about that]

That's wild. Are you two gonna keep all the babies?

[ohwowzers]

Yeah, Dragonite's the orange ones. These little Dratini evolve into them when they're strong enough.

[As if being summoned by the name, Kieran's own Dragonite peers in from behind the two teens, looking curiously at the strange creature on the Rotom Phone. What's this?]

[Kieran, meanwhile, huffs at Drayton before turning back to Angel.]

Well, the regular three're probably gonna be given over to our friend to look after; he's a Pokemon professor, and he works at a conservatory. But the shiny one, well...

[He hugs the little pink dratini a little closer. That little Dratini lets out a happy chirr.]

Oh! I talked to the professor a little bit. Cool guy! He said he'd explain a lot more stuff to me, show me pictures, all that jazz.

[he's very excited, okay?]

Though... whaddaya mean by "shiny?"

[ohwowzers]

Yeah, Professor Turo's real smart! Most Professors gotta be, since they research Pokemon.

[They're very well-respected in their world!]

Well, y'see how she's all pink? Normally they don't turn out like that! Normally they're blue like these ones. [He gestures to the couple that are hanging on Drayton right now.] But really, really rarely, the Pokemon'll be a different colour. It's like, a super-rare chance for it to happen too!

[Okay, despite him being annoyed at what happened, he's also just a little excited over the shiny.]

[aaaand the more excited Kieran becomes, the more excited Angel does, too! funny how that works]

So, ya got yerself a special pokemon! That's awesome! Normally, the animals in my world come in all colors an' sizes, even if they're the same breed, or whatever. So, like, you could have two pigs, but maybe they got different spots on 'em. Or maybe one's a brighter pink than the other. I guess there are some rarer colorations, but we don't call 'em "shiny."

[ohwowzers]

Well that's 'cause the odds of it happenin' are real small! Like, uh...

[He has to pause and think. What WERE the odds..? Reluctantly, he turns to Drayton.]

What're the odds of gettin' a shiny again?

[breezily]

Oh, now you're not yellin' at me?

[ you're asking him an academics question? actually he does sort of know this one but that's not the point. ]

It's, like, one in four thousand or so?

[angellust]

Sounds super rare t'me. An' super awesome!

[he beams at the kids. no wonder Kieran wants to keep that one. Angel really likes that color, too, but he may be a little biased]

All's well that ends well, huh? Y'think ya can forgive Drayton for whatever it was he did?

[he looks at Kieran]

[ohwowzers]

[He frowns and gives Drayton a light push. He forgot, okay! Plus he’s got a lot buzzing through his mind right now. But Angel’s question has him pausing, blinking at the spider demon before looking at Drayton. He still has a frown, but… he sighs, nodding.]

I guess…

[well, that's better than nothing. Angel grins back at both of them now]

Thanks for sharin' the babies with the rest of us. They're fun to watch!

[though, it seems that anything about pokemon will make Angel stop and listen]
