Excuse me everyone, but something's been brought to my attention last month during the hunt for the Scylla. This world has a number of endangered species that, while they might have useful and rare materials when hunted, every one of them lost is a member of an increasingly rare species gone.

I would like to change that; and would like to ask if others are also interested in helping to protect this world's wildlife from further poaching.

Yeah, Turo and Red are pretty great.

What are they like?

Red looks like a cross between a lion and a wolf and wants to help everyone.

Turo is probably the smartest living person here... but he's so nice to everyone he circles back around to being an idiot.

(How you know Turo is Chris' favorite: they feel the need to downplay their attachment via insulting him.)

I find it difficult to put much stock in words. Actions speak for themselves.

That said, you don't seem to have too much reception at the moment.

That's not wrong, but words are still important and more than capable of taking care of a problem.

But yes, you're right, the turnout is quite low, isn't it? I'm afraid that I'm not much of a charismatic individual.

A pity that so many riftfarers prefer to remain indifferent or to take the coin offered. But I am unsurprised.

My own time is stretched thin as it is so I cannot patrol with you. May I suggest seeking out and tagging the creatures so that they can be monitored remotely?

I think we just need more people to talk about it.

Tagging is a great idea, I can certainly do that. In the meantime, you don't have to patrol. But it also wouldn't be a bad idea to mention it as well. Or find ways to advertise the need for further protection of endangered species. Getting more people interested would go even further than just patrolling, after all.

Rallying and organizing troops, if you will.

But I fear nothing short of a counter-offer of the monetary sort will spur enough people into action.

No promises need to be made.

And yes, that's always a distinct possibility. Which is why it's important to emphasize it as being voluntary for now. There's still going to be plenty of people who will gladly help even without any monetary gain.

Have you a plan for when the bounty hunters eventually turn hostile?

I can deal with them if that happens. Though it wouldn't be a bad idea to try and secure the help of the Paladins and Corsairs to help with the actual law enforcement side of things.

Assuming it wasn't one side or the other who placed the bounties in the first place. 'Tis worth trying I suppose.

That's fine and understandable. Just do your best to keep it in mind, there's plenty of people out there who are willing to help, even if it doesn't seem like it based on the few who answered this message.

I don't have a complete list as of yet. But the ones of concern, that I'm aware of, are the Scylla, local whales, and island crabs.

I'm also concerned about the vampire squid.

I'll do what I can, but I should mention I'm not a duck. If they're too far out at sea, it could get a bit dicey.

Yes, it can. And if you feel that things are too dangerous for you then be sure to not take any chances. Your life is important as well.

That said, I was also hoping that everyone could act together in an organized manner. So you shouldn't have to worry about going out by yourself, or without a ship or someone, or something else, helping you out.

I won't die, but dragging myself out of the water in the middle of nowhere is kind of a pain. I can definitely do it.

No, you're right, it would be a pain.

I will, and feel free to invite others to come along as well, if you know of anyone who might be interested. The more people who can help, or at least spread awareness, the better.

You would have my thanks for that. Having more than one person helping would mean a lot. Even if it's just talking about it with others.

Even if you don't know many people here, one person spreading the word would turn into two, two into ten, then 20 and so on. Everything starts off small, after all.

Sure, sure. I don't mind getting the word out. I am also used to talking to strangers, so if I see anyone looking for a job I'll let them know. Can't hurt right?

It absolutely wouldn't hurt. If anything, it could be far more helpful than us just sailing and flying out by ourselves.

Creating posters, pamphlets, and letting others know on the network would also be wonderfully helpful.

My primary duties include patrolling my city, stopping villains, helping people with day to day tasks, I also get tapped for large take downs and investigations, as well as disaster relief whenever there's a natural disaster. I am particularly skilled at rescue, but I'm well-rounded.

That sounds like things a superhero would do. It will be wonderful to have someone with your skills and experience helping out.

Especially considering that poachers are essentially villains in their own right.

That is how it works in my world.

Yeah, I mean, I can't fault people for hunting if they need to eat, but poachers don't do that.

No, they don't and usually end up hurting everyone in return.
