[ The video opens to... the ceiling? With a fair bit of commotion in the background. Voices can be heard near the vicinity of the shellphone, suggesting its user is nearby, before an irritated sigh booms from the side. ]

—Why's it such a big deal, anyway!? It doesn't matter!

[ The jostled device shifts as a hand seems to reach for the camera, only for it to be snatched away just as small fists attempt to clamp themself around it.

Another sigh, but this time from a much younger voice.

"Aw, don't be like that, dad! It's your birthday! Just lettem know!"

There's a loud "tsk!" that follows, and long white hair flashes across the screen before the scene moves again. Almost as if... he had climbed on something? Higher? The world below looks a little smaller, but with that clarity comes the beaming face of Moroha. Her half scowling, half smiling face indicting her motives quite clearly.

"It's a big deal! Tell'em or I'll do it for you...!" ]

H- hey! Back up! Don't touch that—

[ .... Annnnd a "thunk!" followed by the shellphone toppling to the ground as Moroha sweeps in and scoops it up.

"Haaaappy birthday! Make sure to say it to'em, too—" ]

Morohaaaaaa!!

[ Before more rustling and the feed cuts off— ]

Eh, who's counting anymore.

[ He rolls his eyes, attempting to think. ]

Maybe... 200? [ give or take a couple of years. its hard to remember when a lost of it was stuck against a tree! ] A little older?

[200?? His kind really don't age, do they?]

You look good for your age. [He flashes a playful grin.] Did you do anything fun for your birthday? I've only recently discovered what they are. Drow have no such traditions on ours.

[ The comment makes Inuyasha jerk back, a blush quickly flashing across his face. Yet he'll recover almost immediately, being more curious about her other statement- ]

Not yet- but hang on. You don't celebrate your birthday at all?

[Koh slowly shakes her head, her eyes tilting up in thought.]

Uh... no, I don't. Or rather I haven't. Though I have celebrated others since living on the Surface.

[halfdog]

So you're celebrating others and not yourself? That sounds pretty messed up!

Did they just forget the day you were born or somethin'?

[Koh raises her hands, waving them in front of her as she back peddles.]

Oh, no no no! Nothing like that. It's not a big deal, really.

For one, I haven't told anyone when it is. And two, drows simply don't celebrate it. It's just another day to my people.

Hmph. Sounds peaceful like that. Least you don't have people screamin' in your ear all day about it!

[For a flicker of a moment, a sad gleam blinked behind her eyes. There was a bigger underlying reason why she kept her 'birthday' to herself even after she escaped. Today on his was not the time to dig up the past.

Koh hid a small snort behind a hand, shaking her head.]

It can't be all that bad, can it? Shows that people care enough to fuss over you. Let them spoil you.

[ If he was a slightly more observant man, Inuyasha would have been able to catch that glimpse behind her eyes.


... Unfortunately there is only so much he can do over video, and he's already flustered enough with all the attention. So the half demon sights, relenting slightly. ]

Just not for me, I suppose. But don't let that stop ya for when you celebrate your birthday here.
