[ in the background is a very low "yes ma'am!".
surge leans back, her ears twitching as she nods to herself. she shifts to the left a bit, then to the right now sure which side is her best side but... she'll figure that out later. ]
Okay, listen up! Your fellow heroes [ self-proclaimed ] are inna crisis! I got a prop...eristion for anyone willing to take on the challenge!
[ from behind the camera, another voice can be heard: ]

Yeah, that! The reward? We'll get to that later! A N Y way! There's this damn menace on the prowl causin' trouble as we speak, and you all need to be on the lookout. [ hands on her hips, the tenrec nods to her own words because it makes sense, why wouldn't it? ]
Hand me the... y'know! [ she's holding out her hand towards the camera person, asking for something. ] So I know you're all curious about who this nefarious fiend is. My cool and artistic sidekick has taken it upon himself to draw this cretin.
[ a flap of a sheet of paper now means the camera screen, revealing the culprit. ]
THIS GUY. Bring him to us and we will beat the shit out of him and you never have to deal with his evil again! So, anyone up for the task?

her voice lowers, almost offended as it starts to click in her head. it's not an unfamiliar name, certain names get around in the underground and even above on the surface. there are people to avoid, constant reminders of who she's supposed to stay out of sight of and who to keep her attention on. ]

shadow was part of a building block for starline, surge doesn't know all the details, but she knows that despite that she wants to beat the hell out of him. espio? she doesn't know a lot, but enough that anyone in relation to sonic is bad news. biased by a certain preference, and part of the reason why surge stands here today. ]

I asked you because I have my own questions that I'd like to address toward Shadow. I wish to better understand the situation, especially as a detective. It's not as if he is a forthcoming hedgehog.
So unless you have given me a reason to distrust you, you don't have anything to be concerned with. Knowing all the facts helps complete a puzzle for me and isn't your particular problem, but I understand the desire for payback. It is not a patient need to bear.

Let's get to the nitty gritty of it, are you playing me for a fool? You say you understand payback, but even if you did see him, were you going to tell me the exact place, were you going to tell me about him hours after the fact? Maybe days? You're going to protect him in some form, aren't you?

[ a detective named espio, but... who is he? it's a question that if redirected towards surge, she couldn't answer. ]

If I ask myself "who am I", I tell myself: I am Espio. I am an honorable ninja who fights for justice and defeats evil with my skills with my team.

[His voice is a bit softer, acknowledging how she views him. Or rather, perhaps in the way she doesn't know how to view him.
