They've had... a rough go of it. [ Amy's small shoulders slump, and her gaze slides off to the side. ] All they know right now is that they're hurting. And they think that killing Sonic and replacing him will make that hurt go away. They don't want to listen to reason right now, it's too soon.

[ And really, the very thought of them somehow succeeding in harming or killing Sonic sends a wave of dread through her, one that she's barely able to mask. She wishes things didn't have to be so damned complicated. She wishes that she was from whatever timeline they are from so she can understand a little better.

Looking back up at Shadow, her expression softens. ]

You're absolutely right. At the end of the day, we're all responsible for our own actions, our own happiness... I guess I just. Want them to see that we're not so bad? I want to be friends with them. [ Because of course Amy does. She wants to be friends with damn near everyone she meets, and usually, she succeeds. She shifts a little. ]

Last month, there was an incident. I took on a mission to go to an island, and to make a long story short, Surge was there too. There were zombies. It had to do with the water, the rain, everything... I was soaked, and, well, she saved me. She didn't have to do that, she could have left me to die. But she didn't. That says a lot.
