This is Alhaitham.

I have a survey for people to respond to. Those who have filled up my previous survey from last year may consider this as a follow up of sorts to it—those who have not are free to respond to this one all the same. Regardless, there are similarly no restrictions or stipulations to the nature of the responder; the only thing that I request is for honesty when filling this in.

1) Are you currently in any sort of romantic relationship? (Arrangements made purely for physical reasons do not count.)
2) Does an institution of marriage exist in the world that you come from? Does it play any sort of significant cultural role? Feel free to describe as much or as little as you want.
3) Do you consider the idea of marriage important? What is the primary endgoal in any romantic relationship that you pursue?
4) What do you envision as your ideal future with a partner?
5) What does the concept of 'home' mean to you?

It's fine to not think about it. I wasn't actively desiring to pursue a relationship myself until Kaveh confessed to me.

There's not many people who I think would want to even think about putting up with me for that long, hah. The one that might have I think ended up going back home somehow.

But we weren't dating or anything, I'm not sure I'll ever be ready for that. But if YOU weren't ready or thinking about a relationship until Kaveh came along and batted his eyes at you, maybe I have a chance too, eh?

I'm sure Cid will address this far better than I can manage, but I am at least of the opinion that there's no point in desiring something simply because its expected of you. There's no shame in taking your time in deciding on what would be a significant change in your life.

[Definitely do not follow Alhaitham and Kaveh's example because they're just a pair of rizzless fools.]

Yeah, of course. If it happens, it happens. Wouldn't know what to do in a relationship anyway, except be myself, but that's what I'm supposed to do I think.

I suppose its not so much as there's something to 'do', but its also not as if there's a checklist of things to mark off. To be in a relationship with someone is to willingly be in their company, just as they would willingly be in yours. Everything else beyond that is up to you and what the other party desires.

[Look Alhaitham's actual experience may only be with Kaveh but he's done a lot of research prior okay. Most people in the Hideaway has witnessed this.]

Well then that's easy, I can do that pretty well. Don't see how that's different than a friendship, but I guess there's also feelings involved. Haven't felt those yet, but I have plenty of people to ask about it if it ever does happen, including you and Kav.

[She really does have no shortage of people to ask in the Hideaway if needed, though maybe not Cid... Cid might just prime himself to shove thunder up someone's... nose... if she wanted to date someone. (jk she'd ask her dad too but still).]

[Alhaitham can't make any claims to fatherhood any time soon so he can't say that he understands how Cid feels there... and as for feelings, well.]

You'll be better off asking Kaveh about such matters.

[Putting words into emotions is still something that Alhaitham isn't the best at, though not for the lack of trying.]

I think we're probably more similar, actually. Kav is great, and does have good advice, but he seems more... [What's even a good word for this—] in tune with the emotions part. I'm really not, they're too weird to talk about.
