Hello! Sorry to trouble everyone, but I need a favour.
I'm on Eltrut, and I need a ride to either my crew's island or out to their ship, or something. It's not a rush, but if someone's willing to make the trip I can help out with chores on board, or even pay you if you get me back to my place.
[ Hawks has never, outside of MANTA board requests, set foot on a ship willingly for any length of time, in fact, usually he's flying where he wants to go.]
I appreciate it, thanks.

(Are they gone forever now?
He might notice they're going in a familiar direction.)
no subject
[ He genuinely means that, there's something under the surface, some guilt there. ]
They'll grow back, it's just going to take awhile, hopefully. The doctors seem to think so.
no subject
(Very blunt.)
Not sure if your wings can be helped but I'm pretty sure there's an inhaler that'll accelerate healing in your lungs, at least.
no subject
[ What he did was exceptionally bad, with a level of cruelty he would've liked to avoid, but he was cornered. They both were. It's no excuse. He should've been better. Hawks slumps a little bit more as they get closer, he's very clearly exhausted. ]
no subject
(Absolute confidence there.)
Lay down, Hawks. (They can see how tired he is.)
no subject
I can rest like this. I slept in Jeanist's car, twice. I should be full of energy.
no subject
(They sigh.)
We're nearly there anyway.
(They text Faulkner that they've nearly arrived.)
no subject
He's definitely in pain, more than he was a half an hour ago, he's just ignoring it. ]
no subject
He's visibly on edge, and also visibly was in enough of a hurry that his shirt is buttoned wrong and he hasn't bothered to notice, or fix it.
He's now waiting outside the Conservatory gates. Angel is waiting just inside them, all of their heads making little whining sounds because their human is very clearly upset and they don't know what to do about it. ]
Keigo!
[ He said that was fine to use in front of other people... and honestly Faulkner isn't really thinking about it one way or the other right now. He's very worried, and it's taking a moment to even process exactly what he's looking at. ]
no subject
He's hurt pretty bad. Burns on most of his body. Can you get the gate?
no subject
Faulkner however gets a smile, it can be seen in his eyes and a little wave, because he's so fond of him. And though he shouldn't, he'll speak again. ]
Hey...Richie... [ His voice is rough, he's breathing more than the voice is working, but still, it's an effort. ]
no subject
Chris is probably right about priorities though. He can ask for details later, right now Keigo clearly needs help. ]
Y-yeah, okay.
[ And he's turning to get the gate before he hears Keigo. The way he sounds... does not make Faulkner feel any better. One thing at a time, though. He opens the gate, and also puts a hand on his dog to keep them from charging over to investigate, before taking a breath and turning back. ]
Hey. I'm—well I'm glad you're here—we're going to help—and then one of you'd better tell me what the hell happened—
[ He's alright at functioning in an emergency, but he does tend to ramble when he's worried about someone. ]
no subject
(They're not gonna let him get away with pushing himself to stay up and awake.)
He's stable at least.
(Just gonna guide him toward the break room. It's got comfortable places to lie and is next to the medical lab where Turo keeps his invented miracles.)
You up for eating?
no subject
I'm not hungry.
[ He's almost never not hungry, but apparently there is a first time for everything. Lying on his stomach is better for his wounds, not as great for his lungs, but there's no good solution. ]
no subject
He can't help glancing at Chris somewhere between worried and incredulous. Things must be bad if eating isn't even appealing.
He looks Hawks over more closely—he looks so wrong without his wings, and Faulkner's first instinct is to hope that has something to do with the tattoos because other possibilities are a whole lot more horrifying.
Deep breath, keep it together. ]
What's the worst thing right now?
[ This is directed at either one of them. Whatever else is going on, he wants to do something to actually help. ]
no subject
(Which means they're going to duck out of the room now and over into the med lab.
Fortunately, Turo is organized so they'll be fairly quickly about it and Shiny won't be skipping her next turn, but for now they're gone.)
no subject
It's all about the same. I've just been running around all day.
[ That's why he's all dressed up and not in some kind of hospital gown. ]
no subject
He has a lot of questions, but actually he's very concerned about that last comment. ]
You've been running around like this? What were you even—you look like you shouldn't be out of bed—!
no subject
He shouldn't. He seems to think that just because he didn't immediately die and his wings are supposed to grow back that means he'll be fine.
(Just giving Hawks the flattest 'you are fucking stupid' stare.)
I've got that inhaler I mentioned. And some painkillers. Also I want to look at your bandages, see if they need changing.
no subject
[ He had to run errands with Jeanist, that was pretty irrefutable, although if Endeavor got to stay in bed, so admittedly, should he have. He sighs at least his hands aren't bandaged somehow and at the fact Chris wanted to look. ]
There's a lot of bandages, you can leave them if you want. [ He doesn't know what his plan is about those, but he does sigh again, heavily, and sit up. ]
no subject
...One thing at a time. At least they can help with some of it. ]
Let us help you.
[ His voice is a lot firmer than usual. ]
Let me know what I can do to help.
[ That part is to Chris. He's just as glad they're taking charge but he'd rather not just stand around himself. ]
And then one of you really does need to fill me in.
[ Because he's doing his best not to panic but the lack of context is not helping at all. ]
no subject
For now though, they'll bring the armload of stuff they've brought with them and set it out on the table nearest where Hawks is lying, grab the inhaler, and offer it to him.)
For your lungs. (They look over at Faulkner.) Get him out of that shirt, for now.
no subject
His shirt won't be much of a problem, it's a simple zip to get it undone and he'll cooperate, giving up one arm than the other to get it off. It doesn't have holes in the back, so it must not have originally belonged to him. Underneath he is completely wrapped in bandages, the only thing that looks somewhat odd is the two bumps where his wing bones would come out of, that have additional padding to protect them. The injuries are fresh, so it's likely he does need his bandages changed after he spent the day gallivanting around. ]
I didn't tell you about my mission, not really. I was back home for awhile. Couple of weeks. Mission kind of blew up in my face. I miscalculated.
no subject
At least things are clicking into place. 'Went home' was his best guess, but neither of them had actually confirmed it.
That doesn't help his fears for himself at all, but he does his best to shove those to the back of his mind for now. ]
You said you were undercover. That there was a war brewing.
[ And a few other details. Not many, but Faulkner was paying attention at least. Though those details aren't his biggest concern right this second. ]
But... your whole wings? They'll—they'll really grow back?
no subject
If they don't grow back on their own, there's probably magic that can help... if you want that.
(Hawks likes flying, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'd want to do something like that.
They look at the bandages now that the shirt is off and... yeah they're getting pretty gross in spots.)
...You definitely need these changed. You know you're going to have to have them changed regularly, right?
(They should probably have him take painkillers first, since that's going to be an absolutely miserable process.)
