I'm afraid not, though you may have better luck if you were to be a touch more specific! There are any number of stringed instruments out there; which sort are you looking to learn?

I got a ukulele for my birthday.

Maybe I'm just looking to make the person responsible pay for it.

Fascinating! I've heard of them, but never seen one in person. They sound quite charming.

Do you intend to call their bluff, then? Do you believe it was given with the belief that you wouldn't take the time to learn?

It probably is. Earnest, anyway. The guy that gave it to me isn't the sort of person who'd do something thoughtlessly.
