Hello, everyone. My name is Naminé and I have a very small question for anyone willing to give an answer.

[ At first her voice starts out pretty small, but as she speaks more she seems more certain of what she wants to ask. ]

I've had some wonderful people offer to help me learn more about magic here. So I'd really like to narrow down what kind to focus on at first. Would anyone be willing to share their experience?

Either with magic they've learned here or what you may know back home! What gave you found to be the most helpful? The thing that's best helped you to protect and help your friends?

Any answer, long or small, is equally appreciated. Thank you so much.

Does any magic come to you naturally? That's probably the best place to start. You gotta start small, and then grow into it.

[okay Mr "go big or go home". but he's definitely aware that his training... wasn't the ideal way to learn. at all.]

Humm...I'm not sure you could call what comes from our world "magic", really. But I know a few people here who are great sorcerers, and they might be willing to help you out.

G'raha Tia is exceptionally talented and a scholar himself, so if he sees this he'd probably be more than happy to assist you.

Gale Dekarios is a wizard and loves the study of his craft, so I imagine he'll also enjoy teaching it, and eloquent as he is, he's likely a phenomenal teacher even if he gets off topic. He also comes with a highly rated teaching assistant in Miss Tara, though be careful not to call her a cat! She doesn't like it, and we must treat distinguished ladies with respect. I also expect them to comment on this if they check the network today.

Azul is quite knowledgeable about magic theory and a skilled alchemist...he might not be as enthusiastic to assist, but he'd probably be willing to help tutor you for a fee, if I haven't misread him, and he doesn't usually ask an unreasonable price for reasonable requests.

...[Kaveh pauses for a moment, and since this is a voice response and not video, Namine doesn't have to see the shadow passing over his face.] I'm afraid the other person I'd have recommended seems to have...returned home fairly recently.

I'm not sure I really want to do more with the magic that comes naturally to me. Or if it's really magic at all.

What would you call it? If you don't mind telling me that is!

I've had some wonderful offers for teaching already, I just wanted to hear more about what's been the most helpful for people.

Though I'm sure I'd be happy to hear from all of them with anything they'd want to talk about. I'll remember to not call Miss Tara a cat! Thank you for the tip

Oh. I'm sorry about the person that's returned home. Were they a friend?

It's called a Vision. They allow people to manipulate elemental energy directly, but they're gifts from the Heavens...and each one is unique to it's bearer. So no two Vision bearers will use theirs the same way. My husband and I both have dendro visions, but the ways we use them couldn't be more different.

[Kaveh sighs.] Yes...he was a regular at the cafe too. He never talked too much about the world he came from, but he seemed like a lonely soul...he reminded me a lot of my husband, when we were that age.

Oh, that sounds like it might make it difficult to find teachers if everyone is different from one another.

I'm very sorry. Are you absolutely sure he's gone?

Yes. When people disappear here...their contact info goes grey. But we'd have known if Xehanort had just fallen asleep, too.

[About that landmine he just stepped in--]

It's the nature of these rifts, and part of why we're looking for the source of them, so that partings aren't done so suddenly.

[ Well that's...hmm.

She pauses for a while at that revelation. A long while. ]

Your friend was Xehanort? He's...we're from the same place. [ Sort of. Complicatedly. ]

Really? He never really mentioned there were others from his world here.

[Well. About that.]

Never? I guess... maybe that makes a bit of sense.

Well, he talked about the academy he was studying at...and he mentioned his classmates some? But none of them were here, to my knowledge.

Ah, none of us are from his academy. It's... really complicated but most of us are from his future. Very far in the future.

...How far are we talking about?

That's also a little complicated. But the version I knew of him was a very old bald man.

Um.

[He is trying to picture this and he can't. Bald?]

That. Sounds like it was very awkward.

It was. He seemed... very different. Though I only got to talk to him once here.

...That's probably why he never mentioned anything, come to think of it. It was...probably awkward for him, too.

I think it probably was. I was hoping we'd get to talk more because I'm sure our first meeting was a little... It was awkward for both of us.

It's hard to know what to tell someone. Especially if it's not really...

[ good things. ]

...At home, in Sumeru, I know someone who...got stuck in a temple. For her, time seemed to stand still, as she was forced to work through the puzzles to escape. But when she emerged...one hundred years had passed. The world she knew was essentially gone.

Madame Faruzan is very resilient in spirit, to go through that. But I imagine it must be indescribably lonely.

[Which is a roundabout way of saying that even if all Namine had to tell Xehanort was good news, it may not have helped that sense of isolation.]

I hope he wasn't too lonely here. I think some people tried to include him. But there are... complicated feelings about things he'll do. I'm sure some people had a harder time moving past that than others.

It's strange to think he's even the same person we all know. But I'm glad to hear he had some friends here.

Do... Do people remember anything when they go back?

...No.

[Kaveh exhales.] They don't. We're looking for a way to change that, but...

That's ... sad. I guess it's better nobody told him anything then. But it would be nice if people did remember and could maybe change it.

I hope so. The memories people make here are precious. They shouldn't be taken from us.

[Kaveh hesitates for a moment, before deciding he should say this next bit.]

Listen, Miss...I don't know what it is he's done to you, and the other people here. But...the Xehanort who was here wasn't the man who did any of that. He was 19 and lonely and seemed to carry the world on his shoulders.

Not that I can blame people for their own feelings. But I hope...if he ever does come back. That you can see him as the young man he is and not what he'll become.

No memories should ever be taken from people.

[ There's something very stiff and sharp in how she says that. ]

I did. It wasn't hard to see just from talking to him for a short time that he wasn't that person yet. It made me wish he didn't have to become it.

[ and also to really wonder what happens along the way to make him into the bald guy. ]

'Tis good to see you taking initiative in discovering the path you wish to take. You've a worthy goal in wishing to protect others.

[He smiles warmly. She's a good girl, and he already feels a little proud of her.]
