Glimpse Into What Once Was

Hello everyone- pardon the bit of a mess.

[Papers strewn about, along with a few tools in view, as Turo picked up his shellphone with excitement there in his voice. Setting it down on somethin out of view as he was moving and turning out lights in an office after pushing his desk out of the way.]

As others may have been, perhaps still are, working on various pieces of technology recovered from down so deep, there was an item I discovered in Nilatast that I have finally gotten working! To a small degree, at least— I have only been able to recover one thing on it, but...

[There was an item that was the size of a jewelry box, covered in stars and constellations formed in colored enamel and shined up jewels, that Turo had picked up and was sitting down in the middle of the space he had cleared. Pressing a 'button' at the top.

It sparked to life as suddenly a still image was projected above the box; full of living color and capturing a moment of laughter and fun. The light having warmth and even those creatures outside of such large windows seemed to sparkle. Looking as if everything could be touched—]

Look at this! [Almost looked as if Turo was there, moving to sort of sit by the picture box.] I was able to retrieve the data for this image, I might have found what worked as a photo album, but the item itself came from within one of the ruined buildings down there.

They lived there, played in that city.

[Of course there weren't just human children there, smiling faces all. This was something either a parent or some child that had also been there in the moment wanted to treasure even after the day was over.]

Just a small view into what once was, I suppose.

Yes, it is a beautiful dorm. It's the only dorm at Night Raven College to have such a unique feature in comparison to the others there.

[god he misses octavinelle lately... he wonders if theyve even noticed that their dorm leader is missing...]

Given what the photo shows, I can only wonder if this was a family, or perhaps a gathering for a sleepover of some sort.

There is something about the ocean's beauty that does rival much, but perhaps that is a little bias given the Lighthouse home and Lab I had back in Paldea.

[A reason, even if only memories, he settled so well on Eltrut... Hm.]

I had the same thought, this being some sort of sleep over. Likely the parents or one of the friends possibly out of the shot having taken the picture.

[Azul nods along in agreement but perhaps notably doesn't offer anything else about his own home and ocean now. Instead...]

Was there anything else that was discovered during the trip? I had meant to investigate into things myself, but unfortunately something else came up that required my attention instead, so I was therefore unable to take a look around.

There are terminals and various systems set up to allow the intake of water in certain places, along with those meant to expel and keep the water out; to me this indicates that the city was built with the function of it being able to sink and rise above at will depending on which system was in use.

[—Some movement of his free hand as he spoke; natural habit.]

Some of these terminals were still active, and more repaired to create 'safe zones' where barriers activated and created water free places to be explored, while others did the reverse. Of course much of the city was and still is yet to be explored due to the miasma covering the areas, but a way to clear that has been discovered which means we will be able to delve deeper.

Robots are also something that exist down there, some still functioning and corrupted. I have actually repaired two since the return here, a cleaning bot and what may possibly be something of a security one.

Interesting... I must admit that I don't know a lot about robots, but by any chance, did the robots you repair have any data stored that provided any further useful information about the city aside from what functions the robots were built for?

[If that even makes sense to ask... he kind of wishes Idia-san was here, he would probably be the best person to talk to regarding robots and technology.]

There was some data stored, but the functions were easier to piece back together—I am still working on recovering other data, the photo album and the robots, and even the spares brought back for parts.

I still have what could be punch cards that contain data as well, and simply trying to find a computer down there that could be repaired that takes them.

[He had hit a wall here and there, but data retrieval when it was so fractured was quite the puzzle. Wasn't stopping Turo of course.]

A few of them are images, and others some sort of map, from what little I have managed to retrieve. Nothing clear enough yet, however.

I see. Still, it sounds like quite a bit has still been able to be discovered, and I'm sure it won't take long for there to be further data that's found and salvageable.

Hopefully, there are others working on it. I simply may have an easier time due to what I worked with back in my world.

One of those maps is part of the city as a whole while the other appears to be an entire building from what I have gotten so far.
