i guess now i'm noticing the season, the time of year. um. so, do birthdays count here? i mean, would i really be another year older? i'm not sure how this works. if time here might be different to back home or something. but i guess that would mean i'd be sixteen. maybe because of the devil fruit i ate?

I have been counting my birthdays based on the calendar here and adding it to the age I was back home.

I could have done the math and given myself a new birthday based on the date in my world and what day I arrived here. However, I decided that it would be easier to keep the date of my real birthday and count full years in this world from it.

that seems like it would be best, yeah. to just go by the calendar here. otherwise it could get confusing if you try and figure it out alongside the date you last recall back home as well.

but my birthday is december 24th. so i am pretty sure it is coming up with the end of the year.

If the time you've spent in this world has been close to a year, then you could consider yourself one year older when we reach that date.

You still have the life experience of the time spent in this world even if time moves differently in your home world.

[ More like not moving at all since people return at the point they left without their memories... ]

i guess that makes sense, yeah. we still have the experience, the things we've learned here. the people we've met.

There you have it. While ultimately it is your choice whether to add it to your age or not, you have an argument as to why you could include it.

i'm the only straw hat here. the only one from home. but i've been making lots of new friends here!

at least i can celebrate with zelda and darin and the others. since they're here. and maybe next year if i get back, i can celebrate with luffy and the straw hats.

[He's aware of people coming and going, not that they have any control over it here. Yet, anyway. Whether or not he would remember all this once he gets back home is another thing. But for now, he tries to focus on what he can do.]
