it's a new year! and people usually have goals, dreams, for the new year, right? so, tell me! we can help each other make them come true! that's what we're doing at home, my crew. we all have our dreams. like luffy wanting to be the pirate king and find the one piece, the treasure that gol.d. roger hid. or nami wanting to make a map of the whole world. sanji wants to cook with ingredients from all the different oceans. and i want to be the best doctor in the world, so i can treat anyone who needs help. so this year, i want to keep learning more about the diseases here as well. keep learning about illnesses from everyone's homes that might need treating here. what about you guys?

It's hard to know. To plan when we aren't necessarily sure how long we might be here, yeah. That's true.

But those sound like good goals. Nothing too complicated, something to work towards.

yeah, you don't have to just leave it at what you decide you want to work on now. it can change! a year is a long time, after all. so you can add more or something if you want, too.

It really is. Hard to believe I've almost been one.

So you're a doctor? Or you want to be?

i am a doctor. well. there's still a lot to learn, but. i'm the doctor of the straw hats crew back home. and zelda's crew here.

That sounds like a good calling, if not an easy one.

it's not easy. it's a lot of responsibility. but i want to get better. to learn more so i can treat anyone. with any disease.

Noble of you. Most of the ones I've known seemed a little more worried about the money than the responsibility.

i mean. i guess, yeah a doctor is important. but of course i want to help people, too!

Well, that's enough to put you ahead of some of them.

the whole point of being a doctor is to help people!

It ought to be. And I'm sure it is for some of them. Just not all of them. Or at least, they're not so interested in helping everyone.
