This might be a very personal question to ask like this, so nobody needs to feel like they have to answer but...

I was wondering if anyone's ever had a power that they've been uncomfortable with? How did you get over it? Do you think powers that do 'bad' things can be good?

Just curious! And also not related to that but I'd like to make some care packages for those islands in need. Any suggests for good food for them?

Yeah. Got some foisted on me when I didn't want em, too.

Got over it by going after and killing the thing that gave them to me.

I hope so. Took us a long time to get there, but we beat them. And then I woke up here, still with the tattoo that brands me as one of them.

A fal'Cie. Someone who could use magic, and someone to do the bidding of the gods. So, no. Don't think so. Not yet, anyway.

But here you don't have to do the bidding of anyone. You could use that magic however you want, right? Or not at all.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I haven't tried, and I'm too afraid to find out what'll happen.

Could be that this is all just my imagination - some kind of dream that the fal'Cie have put me under. Thought it was at first.

Wait... Really? You've thought this and everyone you've met here might just be your imagination?

Yeah. They like their smoke and mirrors. Though the last time I dealt with that, it was a lot less pleasant than this.

I thought that maybe they were making me see all of this when in reality, I'd turned mindless and numb. Thought that if I used my magic, the truth might show itself. Guess I wasn't ready for that.

I wouldn't say that they had the power to do that. More like create illusions. Never pleasant ones, I bet.

This is probably kind of a naive question but, why do they do that?

I don't know. Maybe to stop them from fighting back? Keep that anger and that despair so that it's all they know as punishment.

[They being the cie'th.]

Those fal'Cie? If they fail at the mission that the gods gave them, then they become a monster, doomed to roam the world forever, wallowing in their own despair. At that point, there's not a whole lot left.

Oh. I think I understand that. Not that it's good, but I've seen something like that done. Sort of.

... That sounds horrible. Is there any way to help a fal'Cie after that?
