[Dongfang Qingcang has his shellphone set up so that it will record him standing in front of it from several feet away. His chin is raised imperiously, his expression is nearly empty, and when he speaks, his tone is bored and even. The sun is behind him, creating dramatic lighting.]

This venerable one is the Great Devil and strongest in the Three Realms, Dongfang Qingcang, Moon Supreme of the Moon Tribe. Mortals would know this venerable one as a god.

[A pause so that anyone listening could make of that whatever they willed.]

As with many who have been brought here, this venerable one finds his full power has been sealed and only some has been restored through the tattoos. This would not matter were this venerable one to set himself against any others brought here as his power is still vast and unfathomable to all but a bare few.

[If Cid is listening: Shut up.]

However, this venerable one has found that despite his power, certain creatures that menace the God-Beasts who have provided sanctuary to us all are particularly... tenacious. This venerable one can easily injure the eight-headed beast, but it is an unfortunate truth that it is able to flee before a killing blow can be made.

As such, this venerable one seeks to find others who have control over the power of fire. Heads severed with fire and whose wounds are seared shut do not regrow. But there are eight necks and more heads grow where one had been should the wound not be sealed properly. This venerable one wishes to gather as many who can wield fire as possible in Eltrut, where it will be easiest for any, regardless of alliance to gather and await the eight-headed beast's next attack.

When it comes, this venerable one is willing to lend any who wield fire a measure of his power. Once all who can have been so graced, we will attack as one. We will severe it's heads, seal the roots, and kill it before it has a chance to flee.

The mods have said that Daqiang is okay to power up other fire users for a mass attack on the Goose and that doing so can and will kill it! Daqiang has the ability to transfer energy and fire-based based abilities and spells are easiest for him to power up, take the least amount of energy for the most effect, etc. So if you want to assume/use the Untitled Goose Bounty 2 prompt in your Test Sail top levels/responses or your monthly posts and include either Daqiang having powered a fire user up, or the post-battle victory bbq, you absolutely can. Assume the big battle takes place near the end of the month, is all that I ask. As Daqiang will be expending all of his energy on this and ending up having to spend at least a week in recovery and I want that to happen in January.]]

[ She answers with video as well, greeting him with a smile. ] What an introduction, Moon Supreme. It's bound to recruit as many people for this a good cause.

[ Rem brings a hand to her cheek, looking faintly worried. ] It's rather mysterious, isn't it? At first, I thought we were witnessing the origin of another living island... [ Only Goose-hyra-shaped. ] But maybe not. The havoc it wreaks needs to be stopped.

[His expression softens into an almost smile at Rem's quick response.]

If it is destined to be another God-Beast, then it will have to undergo many trials. This can be one of them.

[ Slight raise of her brow. ]

I suppose you're right. And... no living island would be able to be taken down so easily by any of us, even one that's just a baby. [ This is her logic and she's sticking to it! ]

If it were still a baby, it would die much more easily. Babies are very fragile and weak no matter what creature they are born from.

No, no, see, my point is that even if it were that young, a real living island would still be near-impossible to take down even in infancy. But you're saying that each head, once cauterized, doesn't grow back! That sort of weakness doesn't seem very "god-beast" to me. Seems normal-beast.

[ As if she's an expert on these things.

Which she is not. ]

That is untrue. God-Beasts must earn their power and their place among the gods as any other immortal must. Very few are simply born into their full power. Those that were... they are the stuff of legends now. And have left the world to be shaped without their continued influence.

[ She brings a hand to her chin. ] Ehh, so even... some gods have to start out weaker. [ The ones that aren't born into that innate godhood, anyway.

This is news to her. ] I never considered that.

This venerable one supposes the gods of other worlds may be created differently, but it would be very strange for it to be so. Even for all the oddities this venerable one has encountered here.

[ Rem, who's only under the impression that he's an Immortal with a capital I, lifts a hand to her lips, giggling. ] It's rather nice to think about, isn't it? I'm imagining the gods as... well. Little toddlers, learning their first words. Oh, or playing catch with whatever god created them! [ What or who created Diva, the twin history-keepers of Orience? Or the three other deities found in the Nameless Tome? She doesn't know. But this is rather fun to think about! ]

That is the way of most things. This venerable one's father found playing soccer to be a waste once it was realized this venerable one had the innate talent for war. But for a time, however brief, it did happen.

[His face and tone have gone completely cold again.]

[ Gone are her whimsied musings of the supposed early childhoods of deities because there are three things to unpack here. First, it sounds as if he's including himself among the gods. Second, the change in expression. Third, the mention of his father. ]

[Rem's reaction to his account of his childhood was very strange. She was both upset and apologetic for some reason... had she assumed he, too, had sprung fully formed from nothing?]

Did you not understand that this venerable one had been a child once? Did we not discuss our childhoods with that fraud of an artist only recently?

That's... [ She takes a moment to consider how to address this. ] I know I was the one that brought it up about gods having a childhood, but I should mention that-- something like that is very different from anything in my world. Erm, to my knowledge, anyway. [ Rem is obviously not a god. ] Which is why I thought it fascinating to consider for them. [ And knowing that he had a childhood, it only pushed the association with godhood further way. ]

You only mentioned you were immortal. [ And she thought this post's introduction was for exaggerated, dramatic effect! The man was backlit, after all. ] But I suppose... in retrospect, it seems so obvious now that you are a deity.

Sorry, to have mentioned the topic of gods' childhood. Didn't mean to touch up on something unpleasant for you.

[He supposed he had never explicitly said 'I'm a god' to her before. But the fact that he was immortal and the most powerful being in his world should have been enough to get that association across, right? Right.

Back to the concept of gods and deities.]

In the Three Realms, the fairies of Shuiyuntian claim the titles of gods. This venerable one is from Cangyanhai and as such, is a devil. Though both races are immortal, and share a common root, it is not this venerable one's preference to be called by a title his enemies use. However, the distinction is often immaterial to mortals or those immortals who have only obtained a few thousand years of wisdom. It is not worth attempting to educate most others on as this venerable one is a true immortal, and more of a deity than even those fairies who have been named gods. Many of whom, this venerable one has killed.

[ Gods, immortals, immortals that are not true immortal like him, fairies, devils.... She does her best to note them all and ascribe them better distinctions. It might save some confusion later.

And they fight among themselves. He's killed immortals who labeled themselves gods. Rem sucks in a breath. ]

...Why do they bother even fighting you.

[ No one can win against gods. When a god says to sacrifice yourself, you sacrifice yourself. When a god says the world is over, it is over. ]

[Wow, Rem. Way to stroke his ego. He puffs up a little, chin lifting and expression getting even more haughty and just a little smug. A smirk playing at his lips.]

If they surrender, they are taken prisoner. Whether they are executed or not depends on their individual crimes against the Moon Tribe.

[ Ah. She smiles at that, appearing a bit relieved. ]

That's fair. And I'm glad you said it.

This venerable one is not unreasonable.

[But he also was fully willing and ready to kill indiscriminately when it came to his enemies. And pretty much all fairies of Shuiyuntian fell into that category. Still... if he was not inclined to kill someone immediately, he usually allowed them time to argue for their life. Or to run. Even to fight him if they were so desperate.]

That's-- I'm glad. [ boy howdy is she relieved. hand to chest and releasing a sigh and everything. ] Even the demigods of my world... if they want the souls of half the nation's population, they take them. You're far kinder than that.

[ A laugh, soft and dry. What if he hadn't said he'd allow some leniency after a surrender? In her world, she has to follow a (merciless) Crystal. But in this one, she can choose whether or not to follow a merciless god, ...can't she? ]

This venerable one is not kind. If this venerable one had use for a soul, this venerable one would also not hesitate to take what was needed.

[What is with women like Rem and Orchid who insist that he's somehow less terrible than he is?]

Is being called 'kind' that bothersome? It's a compliment.
