[ The video opens on Emet-Selch, sitting in his private workshop at the Adamantine Forge. It looks partly like a laboratory and partly like an office, with a wide window running across the back wall for him to view the work below. ]
Greetings, rift-farers. I require the expertise of a smith, metallurgist, or anyone in a similar field. I have here a sheet of metal salvaged from a submarine found in the underwater city that is of an unknown alloy. Whilst I do have workers of my own analysing it, surely there must be someone for whom this metal is familiar.
[ He shifts aside and aims the camera on his phone at his workbench where the piece of metal sits. It has obvious signs of long-term physical and seawater-related damage. ]
My thanks in advance.

Wait, are we in a fight? Are you mad at me?

You are more than welcome to come by. In fact, I invite you to.

Let me get some tools together and I'll head over. Anything you can tell me about this metal in the meanwhile? You said it was salvage?

It was salvaged, yes. Cid was kind enough to allow me to take away a plate of it to examine. Thus far what we know is that it is sturdy enough to withstand the immense pressure of the sea depths and lighter than existing metals for its size. It appears to be resistant to rust and decay as well. The dirt you see here is because I have yet to clean it properly.

Traditionally, ship hulls are treated with a sealant to keep water out. It's possible the metal could have been treated with something similar to withstand the water pressure as well.
Have you done any conductivity tests? Might clue us in to something comparable and we can work backwards from there.
@reindered
[Of course, his crewmate is the first who comes to mind.]
just finished s2 of the live-action ToT
[ A wry smile. ]
I meant no offence. The metals available here are slightly different to what I'm used to so I thought it a good idea to gather a variety of opinions.
I still need to watch the new season! For Chopper and Robin.
[He isn't sure his helping to fix up the ship back home really counts so much. It's definitely more something in Darin's wheelhouse, as it were.]
I would die for Chopper!!!
How strong are you, incidentally? I'd like to see how well it holds up to impact.
As would everyone. Yes. My friends were not wrong in guessing he would be my fave.
[If he transforms to his much larger form. That might help?]
