Hi all!

My name is Stede Bonnet, Gentleman Pirate. I'm sure some of you may know me, but if you don't you soon will! I'm currently looking for crew to sail together and have many adventures while we're here. Duties include looking after one another, talking it through, mending experience a plus but not necessary and someone to take notes. If you're interested, or know me! Please reply as soon as you can.


Also if anyone has seen Blackbeard or a tall man named Ed with long salt and pepper hair that is incredibly handsome and charming and probably the most amazing man I've ever known, please let me know.

And...if you're here, Ed, if you can hear me... [his voice breaks and he clears his throat] I've got some things to say to you as well. Starting with... I'm sorry.

This venerable one is the captain of the Phantom Moon and leader of the Raiders of the Lost Arts. This venerable one has no need to leave his position. It was simply unclear what your goal was beyond seeking out this 'Ed' person.

I thought I was quite clear, but I understand if you missed it, being fairly dark where you are. [he's unbothered]

Raiders of the Lost Arts is an interesting name. What lost art are you raiding?

Dark? It is not dark.

[He's sitting in his well-lit office, looking out over the ocean. What dark was it?

It wasn't important.]

Forget it.

We 'raid' the lost magical arts of this world and other treasures and ruins that time has led to being forgotten. Currently, we are seeking to investigate ancient magic that is necromatic in nature, as well as any other lost magics we may find on the way. Some of the crew focus more on researching newer magics and the oddities of this world. It's flora and fauna. It's magitech.

Our purpose in forming was to study, learn, and discover. The name was suggested by someone at a library and none at the time disliked it. So it was chosen.

[Though he was providing a great deal of information, something that many might be proud to share, his bored tone never changed.]

Oh that sounds fascinating. [he has no idea what the hell the man is talking about except for the art part. It doesn't really matter though since he does have to cultivate friendships if he's going to be a captain here]

And what have you learned from all that? Anything interesting? How we got here? How we can get back?

No. The search for the relic is a separate matter.

[He's assuming Stede has been given the rundown about the supposed relic that can control the rifts.]

There has been some progress on the origins of the tombstone carried by ghost ship which attacked God-Beasts Eltrut and Naughtilust. Mostly that the writing is unique enough that should we find more of it, it is likely to be related. But we are still researching port records for the appearance ships of a similar make. With the age of the ship, the records search will not be a swift thing.

This venerable one is not personally involved in the other research projects of the crew. They share their progress as they deem it worth sharing.

Which armada do you intend to sail out of?

Oh a ghost ship. I'd love to find one of those. Not sure ghosts are real, but I'm ready to give them the benefit of the doubt. Records are... just... really neat. [hard to fake enthusiasm about paperwork]

I'd hoped to start one of my own.

You wish to start an armada? To go against the Paladins and Corsairs?

[Though his tone remained bored, there was a hint of sudden interest.]

You are ambitious. What reason do you have to go against both?

Not go against anyone no. Just set up on my own. Make my own path through the sea, as it were; have no one expectations to meet but my own.

[yuezun]

Going your own way doesn't require setting up an armada. You can do that with a single small ship and no crew at all. But you want to lead. A single crew now, and building toward an entire armada. Why?

[well he hadn't really thought of more than one ship but actually] Because I want to change the world. Irrevocably.

[and maybe Ed will be a little impressed by it when he shows up...if he shows up...]

[Daqiang was quiet for a time. He supposed 'change the world' was a goal. Fairly vague, but it allowed for the mortal to define how he would change things sometime later.]
