[Alhaitham snorts lightly at the way Kaveh puffs up, affronted, yet unlike before there is none of the vitriol that his senior would lace himself with, ready to bite back at just about any given slight. Back then, Kaveh had been determined to uphold a level of perfection of himself they now both know to be impossible, much in the same vein of Alhaitham thinking of himself as untouchable to a degree. None would ever understand him until Kaveh, and though none have still come close even after Kaveh the desire to hold himself higher doesn't quiet exist in the way it used to.
For all that they have stayed the same in some ways, it has been made clear time and time again that they have also both changed in others. Time and distance has made them both wiser and more learned, in terms of themselves and each other. And though there are things about Kaveh which Alhaitham knows he might not be able to wholly understand... it is fine. He has accepted now that not everything is meant to be known, for better or worse.]
