Wanted to leave a quick note and thank you to everyone who helped test my little inventions last month. They should be finalized and ready for official public release next month, but as promised those who helped will receive theirs earlier once ready. Just let me know where to send them off or I can contact you for pick up later.

On that note, I wanted to inquire if anyone had any requests or suggestions as to what I, or any other inventor here, should work on. Whether it's improvements or some alternate version of something that already exists here, or perhaps something similar from your own world.

While I am working with magitech, I am more interested in electrical and mechanical engineering, and I'd rather stay away from weaponry unless it's more for defensive or nonlethal use. So anything of that nature will be more my type.

Perhaps for yourself, but swimming and traversing underwater won't be easy, even with a suit and the charm. And consider if you do find something and need to bring it up, it could be more than you can carry.

Still, a vehicle like that would take a lot more time, resources, and manpower, so the suit is certainly the first step to go.

A vehicle? Do you mean to make a boat sail beneath the water?

Might be more than I am capable of...then again, I did design a ship with engines, something that didn't exist in the current time of my world.

But it's certainly an idea I am now interested to try when I have the time for it.

Rem Tokimiya has mentioned engines before. What does the engine do?

It's a device that helps move an object with its own source of energy, rather than relying on wind, water, or some other external force.

And with the right kind of fuel, you could have something the size of a chair move something as large as a small boat on its own.

Are these not things that can already be done with magic?

[ramuhs]

Not everything can be solved with magic, and you never know what's down there. If there's something that can be dispel magic, then you're as good as dead.

[Considering his near drowning during the first few weeks of his time in this world and the current state of drowning nightmares that had actually killed many victims... that particular caution was very effective in making Daqiang pause to think deeper about that possibility.

He had never lived his life without access to at least a little magic. And his own personal power as one who practiced was without equal. Until he arrived in this world. His power sealed away entirely. It had not been an experience he wanted to repeat. And it was true that he'd encountered some magics that could prevent him from teleporting. Though, such magic was more limited in it's implementation. Most people in this world couldn't teleport without the use of a Ring of Returning. As such, it was probably a difficult and expensive undertaking to purposely attempt to block similar powers and magics.

But something that simply sealed his power or stripped him of it entirely? In the same manner of how he arrived? That... was not likely to occur, but not unlikely either. If the rifts were controlled by an ancient artifact that may or may not be buried beneath the water, and it sealed the powers of various beings upon bringing them to this world, it was entirely possible one of the protections on it would be something to seal the powers of those who drew too near.]

Then you will have to develop something that can power the engine without using magitech.

Aye, and it would have to be able to withstand water and the pressure. Heat is the usual power source of the engines I'm familiar with, but not sure how that would work underwater without the proper casing. Then there's the matter of weight — wouldn't want to sink the ship and not be able to bring it back to the surface.

I'd call this one a "grand project" to work on over time, but the suit can be first. Might even give some ideas and at the very least will be more immediately useful for shorter dives.
