TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.

A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.

Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

Man, and I thought I and a lot of other people from back home got kidnapped a lot. That sucks to hear if it's true.

But my guess's going to go with two as the lie. Compared to learning another language and getting abducted, it's simplicity stands out a lot.

And you're correct. For it being so simplistic, it is a skill that still escapes me. Not for lack of trying, though, but there's only but so many times I can eat a tasteless stew.

If it makes you feel any better, I've lived with a girl who's a complete disaster in the kitchen. I doubt you could be any worse than Ms. 'Thinks-It's-A-Good-Idea-To-Microwave-An-Egg'. [He is so glad Akane isn't here, he'd be getting a fist through his skull for that remark.] Cooking's really simple once you get the hang of it, just keep trying and you'll probably get it eventually.

I'm not sure what a microwave is, but I feel safe in assuming that it is not how one should cook an egg.

Basically a small box that uses radiation and heat to cook food. If you cook something like an egg still in its shell in it, it builds pressure and steam in the shell until it eventually explodes.

She's about to ask what radiation is, but maybe it's better that she just jot down the word and go look it up herself in a dictionary. Wouldn't do to make herself look completely unknowledgeable.

So in other words, I'm better off sticking to boiling my eggs.

If that's how you cook them, then yeah, that's one way.

There's also scrambled, but I always seem to reach the point of no return when doing them that way and they seem... chewy.

Well yeah, that's usually the point of scramble eggs. To be chewy.

I'm not sure that's the case. Other people's eggs are soft and tender, almost melting in your mouth. Mine are very much not like that.

[Oh... When she said chewy, he thought she meant the eating kind of chewy. He turned up his lips and hissed in a 'oh that's bad' manner.]

They're that bad?? [Sorry Jill, tact and Ranma don't go in the same sentence.]

Unfortunately. As I said, cooking is not my forte.

Yikes. If ya want, I can show you a few pointers sometime. Cooking's pretty easy after a while of learning.

[Unless you're an uncute tomboy who's meals are scarcely safe to eat at best and a biohazard at worst.]
