TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.

A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.

Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

While true about the shrinking in this world, the truth is my Eikon form is much larger.

Until this venerable one sees it, this venerable one will not be convinced. However, if that was not intended as a lie, then riding whatever a chocobo is backwards is the lie.

Not really by much. I wouldn't really consider it, anyway, especially when the lightning is more magic than from storms.

What is a chocobo?

It's a giant bird we use as steeds to ride and do the heavy lifting back in my world. About the size of the horses here.

This venerable one assumed, given your status, you would be, if not a master of the six arts, at least well-trained in them. Your rendition is sufficient to convey your meaning well enough, however.

Is the beast intelligent or simply a beast?

That, my friend, is what even a notable artist would call a "doodle." I won't claim to be a professional, but I can assure you my real talents are better than that.

But the chocobo is quite intelligent. They may not be able to speak human words, but they can understand and even outwit the smartest hunter. It's why they are the favored mount for the military. Easy to train and smart enough you can trust your life with.

Intelligent beast, then. If they are so favored for military conflict, they must be fierce on the battlefield. This venerable one has very few in his armies that ride a beast into battle.

[Had, anyway. The state of his armies in the current era were a far cry from what they had been when Chidi Nuzi sacrificed herself to stop him.]

Why didn't you attempt to ride it backwards?

Was a bit of a drunken dare back during my mercenary days. There were even bets made to see who could get the farthest.

But what is Shangque?

Shangque is this venerable one's second. His general and most trusted servant. The only one whose service has not wavered in 38,000 years.

He is a black dragon.

I might have to pass as I haven't had the best experience with their types so far.

However, I'm somehow not surprised you'd have a dragon as a steed.
