TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.

A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.

Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

(Also yes he is well aware that Freminet is fourteen but LOOK. He has to learn about this some day. And Alhaitham isn't the kind of person to ever try and sugarcoat things for the sake of others.)]

No. The answer is the second.

Do you really have that many books at home?

Yes, though not all of them are originally mine. A good portion of it is an inheritance that my family left to me. The collection is also one that I have been building for over a decade, now.

...Can I ask what kind of books are they? If your family gave it to you, it must be something important.

Journals, research logs, reference materials and other such things. There are also several works of fiction as well.

[Though, the contents of those particular books have never been the main point. He has those books as both proof and reminder of what has been left to him; wisdom and knowledge is, after all, what Sumeru prizes above all else, and what better way is there to leave one's legacy and presence through the physical embodiment of an otherwise nebulous concept?]

[Why no, he wasn't going to ask if there was some kind of marine information Alhaitham could give him. Not at all.]

Is there something in particular you're interested in?

[It is a genuine question. Alhaitham sees no point trying to list everything out when Freminet could save themselves the effort and just say what he's specifically eyeing.

...not that it really matters much, seeing as all those books are back in Sumeru. But he does have a good memory.]

[It takes a while for this message to come, mostly because Alhaitham had to rack through his mind since its not like any of his books in Sumeru are here now save for two.]

Marine life not so much—unless you want to count the ones I have obtained here—but I do have several about mechanisms and the like. They're all currently back in Sumeru, however.

But if you want books about magitech as it exists here, I have a few that may interest you.
