« two truths and a lie »
TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE
There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.
A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.
Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

Is it three?
[Like, she only knows it's not the first from experience and the other two seem equally likely.]

[See Kaveh he is successfully stumping people!! Take that!!]

You mean you don't tear through every book as soon as you get it?
no subject
Some books need more time than others.

[Sorry Dehya you're starting to activate Nerd Talk.]

Wouldn't it be easier to just read the most recent one with all the added information?

[He has been very nerdy it is his way of coping.]

[Which, they mostly are. But the materials from each faction tend to be heavily skewered towards their own, and there isn't much in terms of 'neutrality', which makes it hard to establish a functional timeline that isn't wholly influenced by a singular party. It certainly hasn't stopped Alhaitham from trying, though.]

[Doesn't help that Elah is the only place that has an actual library... the other places are much more lax and loose and don't have much in the way of actual documentation.]

Secondary and alternate sources of information are going to be the best way for now until something else crops up.

While the phenomenon of riftfarers isn't new to them now, it seems to have only started about five years ago. Long enough that people have come to accept it, but not so long that there'll be much information available at large beyond the basics that we are already aware of.
There is not much in terms of actual confirmation about the supposed artifact that brought us all here, but people have apparently been able to find their way back voluntarily, instead of being prey to the random nature of the rifts.

But people sometimes get dragged back here, don't they?
no subject
[He could go and ask the riftfarers who have decided to settle here, but... 'Alhaitham' and 'asking nicely' are two things that don't tend to go hand in hand very often. It's maybe earned him the ire of a few NPCs more than once.]

time
I didn't really get it but these are things people'd only know if someone who went through going home came back. Or if someone else told their story but that'd be hard to prove.
no subject
[And he doesn't know about the rest of you guys but it is certainly something to note. Whether or not that actually means anything though is a different conversation entirely.]
But yes, you're right. There is no way to know for sure unless somebody who has returned comes back, but I doubt that's something that will happen anytime soon.

[He was lowkey real weirded out when he met Kaveh here and realized that there was a two month difference that's for sure.]
no subject
I don't even want to think about how that works. But I guess we won't be missing?
no subject
[And as far as he is aware that hasn't been the case.]
