TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.

A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.

Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

Feels like three should be the lie considering you're texting, unless you're some sorta zombie or spirit.
emet_sulk: (37 fond of them are you?)

Truly a conundrum, isn't it? On the one hand, such an obvious lie would make the game too easy. Yet in being so obvious, that would surely indicate it to be the truth. But if it IS the truth then how could I be communicating to you through a physical medium? Not a spirit, then, but still mayhap a member of the undead.

What do you think?

...

[Calm down there Socrates, it's just a game.]

I'm just gonna guess three isn't the lie now after you spilled your guts so passionately there. Is it two?

Correct. Very well done.
emet_sulk: (15 in thought)

[ ... ]

Hmm, this game is rather underwhelming without any sort of reward.

No kidding. The game's supposed to be an icebreaker, so maybe the real reward is ~friendship?~

[That sounded mushy even when he's being sarcastic about it.]
emet_sulk: (21 save it for the masses)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-03-07 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
[ That gets a little bit of a snicker on his end. ]

Do you feel like being friends with a questionably undead, immortal being then?
catsgothistongue: (chibi)

[personal profile] catsgothistongue 2024-03-07 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
There's been worse or stranger people to call friends.

[That is to say he's cool with it.]
emet_sulk: (18 well you'll be fine)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-03-08 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Now that is an icebreaker. Do tell.
catsgothistongue: (Speak)

Where do I even begin? A lot of them are... alright, if not headaches one day, pain in the asses the other. Okay, so there's this guy named Ryoga Hibiki. "Knew" him back in middle school, kept swiping the bread from him enough to make him mad and challenge me to a duel. He told me to meet him at the back vacant spot to settle it once and for all between men.

The thing about Ryoga? He's a strong as hell guy with all the navigational skills of a blind mole. You could lock him in a broom closet, and he'd somehow get himself lost in there. He kept me waiting there for three days cause he got lost along the way, even though the spot he issued the challenge at was behind his house. I waited there days and nights, until the fourth day when I had to leave because we needed to leave town. And he gets all pissy at me for 'running away like a coward.'
emet_sulk: (38 I do like sleep)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-03-08 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
[ That is. a lot. He wasn't expecting a mini-biography. ]

I'm impressed you bothered waiting. I would have left within the bell.
catsgothistongue: (Stance)

[personal profile] catsgothistongue 2024-03-08 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
[He said 'do tell'. And he did.]

A martial artist doesn't back down from any challenge, no matter what. I would've waited a little longer if Pop didn't make me leave.
emet_sulk: (81 Your only job is to follow orders)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-03-10 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
Well, now I can't help but wonder how long your patience would last without interference.

[ An immortal's concept of 'a long time' is, well... ]
catsgothistongue: (Come again?)

[personal profile] catsgothistongue 2024-03-10 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
I probably would've waited three more days, if I had to guess. Like I said, a challenge between men. You can't just walk away from it... But even I have my limits on how long I'll wait.
emet_sulk: (18 well you'll be fine)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-03-12 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
Ah. Honourable but not a fool. I can respect such character.

Well, I promise you that even though I'm sure my perception of time differs greatly to yours, I always keep my appointments.
