TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.

A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.

Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

That's a stupid reason! Poor Goliath. That's so unfair. He didn't want to be used like that!

[He has big feelings on the elephant injustice. The murder was bad too but the real tragedy was Goliath's story.]

Me? Act? In a play? Nooo, I'm not really good at stuff like that.

[He couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag. Same for lying as well as Roxas had already so kindly pointed out to him.]

People have killed others for less, and others are caught in the middle of it. However, I did turn the actual murderer over to authorities. That is at least something.

[ He'll refrain from upsetting key2myheart further with Goliath's fate.

Sherlock thought from key2myheart's last reply that they had also acted. Perhaps they think Sherlock is an actor. He can't imagine himself as an actor, but if he had stayed on Cordona longer and under better circumstances, could the path of his life gone in that direction?
]

You could always learn. That was part of the point. Maybe we weren't as grand as those walking the stage at night, but with some polish, maybe we could be.

[Sadly, that was a fact that Sora had learned at a young age too, though not much younger than he was now. It didn't make it any easier to accept though.]

Yeah, that's something. Shouldn't have happened at all but at least the right person was caught.

I don't know about that. I'm pretty bad at not telling the truth. Kind of think I wouldn't be any good at acting either because of that. Isn't the difference between the two just that with one everyone knows and is playing along?

[Honest to a fault, some might even say.]

[ That's an interesting view on acting. It's a little amusing in its simplicity. ]

Acting isn't about lying. It's about playing a role. You can speak complete truths but still be acting.

[It would not surprise Sherlock at all how naive the other was if he knew Sora personally. Tenacious but naive to a fault.]

I guess I haven't really met a lot of actors or gotten to know any either. Not sure how someone can be completely truthful and still be acting. Is it a charisma thing?

[Liars on the other hand...Oh boy, has he dealt with a few which might explain something about that outlook regarding acting.]

[ And there are a number of topics which Sherlock is naive about which may be surprising for someone so knowledgeable. ]

It's how you carry yourself and your voice, how you move or dress. The words said can be exactly the same, but acting can make their delivery different.

[ Sherlock has also dealt with a number of liars, both those who didn't act and those did. ]

Wow, that sounds like there's a lot more to it than I thought. I guess that's why there's schools for it and stuff, huh?

So were you learning to be an actor or something before you ended up here? Is that why you said 'maybe we could be' before? 'Cause you're still studying acting or something?

[Plus whoever this astudyinviolet person was, they seemed to know a lot about theatre...And unsuitable elephant housing but that didn't seem like it was personally their fault. Just an unfortunate situation for everyone involved.]

Ah, no. I am not studying to be an actor. The skills do come in handy from time to time, but it was a passing interest as a child. The art I spend time studying is music, especially the violin.

[ He also sketches, but he doesn't consider that art. It's more for reference. ]
key2myheart: (Awesome)

[personal profile] key2myheart 2024-04-03 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
Oh cool, so you're a musician then? That's pretty sweet too! Are you still involved with theatre then because of that?

[It's a valid question, right? Studies music, plays violin, walks like a duck, sounds like a duck. That's how that works right?]

I do not play music professionally. I don't even live near Cordona anymore. I am a consulting detective.
key2myheart: (Wondering)

[personal profile] key2myheart 2024-04-05 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
What's a consulting detective? Or, well, I know what a detective is but what's the consulting part mean?

Where do you like now? Does your family still live there?
How come you moved? Was it a real estate thing?
idk what that means but my dad talked about it a lot whenever he would talk about us moving. Don't think he'll ever move though.

As much as I've enjoyed this conversation, I'm afraid I must be going. Other tasks require my focus.

[ Talk of his family, the reasons he moved two and from Cordona, is a very tender subject for him. ]

Oh, okay. Thanks for the game! Good luck with whatever!

[That was...Sudden. And he still didn't know what a Consulting Detective was.]
