TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.

A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.

Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

The time travel? That is something of a long story, best left where it is, or shared in person. Perhaps it would even bore you.

The second statement is, in fact, the lie. It was only a demon claiming to be a god, and I did not witness the moment of its death. It was something to be felt within the demimonde, though I did not fully understand what it was until an ally took claim for the kill.

Were you simply ticking down the list with your guesses?

How could time travel be boring though!?

NICE GOT IT! I've killed a bunch of devils who thought they were invincible but they all died in the end.

[A brief pause before sending the next message toying with Vanessa a bit teasingly.]

The travel itself was not boring, but the telling of it may be strange. Best spoken of in person, perhaps. Should we ever meet.

What is a public house? Never heard of a tea house around here either. All I know are different taverns even though I don't drink.

We needn't drink. They are essentially one and the same, merely of a different time. I've heard others also refer to them as pubs. Or bars.

[ Pub makes perfect sense but where did 'bar' come from... ]
