....I'm sorry to ask this but would here be anyone who is willing to write a story with me? It doesn't have to be long; I just want someone's opinion on something.

[Because he needs to go out and befriend people, right? All he hoped was that he could just keep it through text!]

Why would that be childish? That sounds awesome!

So we need a hero in the story. Someone people can root for and look up to. Maybe someone who wants to be a knight? What do you think?

I was thinking of having a turtle and his penguin companion with him.

Oh and the penguin happens to be a knight to take down a creature in a cave that could fulfill the wish of anyone.

Whoa it can fulfill anyone's wish? Why would the penguin knight want to defeat that creature? Was someone gonna use it for evil?

...More that they want to erase a past that they committed.

Huh. So the penguin knight is trying to erase something that was done?

Whoa, now I wanna know what the penguin did.

[And here comes the problem. As he wondered if he should let his imagination get the better of him and tell the story or should he ask someone to write for him. And yet, he found himself being too nervous to tell Darin that.]

Um...what do you think it might be?

[Darin thinks about it. It'd be neat if the story had a twist. Something the audience wasn't expecting. Something relatable...]

...What if the knight wants to undo becoming a knight? What if the expectations of being a hero weigh on him and he's not happy? Maybe he wants to change that?

That...

Might be a good twist to the story. To be honest, I hadn't thought of that.

[All he thought was that he wanted the knight to be able to fly and see the world! But Darin's works too!]

But I think your idea might be better as I'm interested in want made the knight want that.

Well, there's a lot of pressure with wanting to be a knight. People always expect the best from you, you're expected to be a hero. An example.

And maybe the penguin just thought he couldn't live up to that expectation. Maybe he wanted to be something else the whole time and he wanted to see if he wanted to see if he'd be happier.

[If this sounds like it's coming from any sort of personal experience on Darin's part, it's just your imagination! Don't worry about it!]

[And this totally doesn't sound like something Freminet could relate to. Not at all. Of course, he dealt with his fair shares of living to his own unattainable expectations but he wasn't going to say a word.]

...Perhaps he might.

Although, the turtle wanted something a little different. He simply wanted the penguin to defeat the creature as it was making the villagers in his town scared. They didn't know what would happen should the penguin make the wish.

Huh.

You know, maybe the turtle can learn that knights are people. Like that they're not just pillars of goodness and that sometimes they need saving too.

Maybe the turtle can help the penguin like that?

How so...?

If you don't mind me asking....?

[Darin crosses his arms and thinks for a minute or two. He finally responds with an idea.]

So the turtle asked the penguin to slay the creature. The turtle is just doing what most people do. They ask knights for help. It's the knight's job, right?

What if when the knight goes to make the wish the turtle stops him. After all, that wasn't the quest so why in the knight looking to make a wish like that?

Maybe, in that moment, the penguin knight can confess that he's scared. That he doesn't believe he can live up to everyone's expectations. That people only see him as the penguin knight and not the penguin.

Maybe then, instead of slaying the creature, the turtle can change his mind. Request the penguin to come to his village.

The story ends with the creature not being slain but the penguin and the turtle get their wishes anyway. The penguin decides to live in the village and protect it because the people become his friends and the turtle has a friend who will also defend the village.

What if there isn't a monster at all? Maybe the monster are all of their fears and the cave is just a means of making them be honest about what's in their hearts?

[Darin might have really gotten into this.]

It seems that you have a passionate for this more than I do. I was trying to figure out a way to make this story more interesting, but it seems you have better ideas.

To be honest, it's funny that you bring up the idea of friends. I was hoping to write a story because I thought it would be a way to meet some more people. I'm not the best when it comes to socializing....
