[So guess who finally figured out you can hide your User ID on the network? He's been here a few months now, and with this being anonymous, he finally felt comfortable to try taking suggestions publicly.]

Does anyone here have experiences with curses and or knowledge on how to break them? Asking for a friend.

[That friend is him, he's the friend.]

Those tend to not have easy fixes. Depending on what it is, breaking it may be more of a pain in the ass than it's actually worth.

Wouldn't be surprised. The worse the curse, the more of a hell you need to go through to get rid of it. If yours is even close to as bad as mine, you're in for a rough ride trying to find a way to break it.

[so smooth. eizen'll be nice and make no comment though.]

Bad. I've got something called the reaper's curse. Bad luck follows me no matter where I go. If something bad can happen, it's not a question of IF it'll happen, but of how bad it ends up being.

Pretty bad is putting it mildly. I've lost count of the number of people who ended up hurt or killed all because they chose to associate with me.

You mean your friend's curse.

[just a friendly correction. gotta keep that lie straight, you know.]

But no, not any that are worth it. Any cures I looked into either lead to dead ends, failed miserably or aren't worth trying in the case that they end up being a load of crap.

Now you're getting it. Curses aren't called curses for no reason.

So the way I see it, your friend has three choices: give up and let the curse control his path, keep hunting for that cure no matter the odds, or accept the curse as a part of himself and live his life regardless of what hell or highwater comes his way.

Good answer. If your friend arrives at a similar answer, then no matter what happens, he will chart his own course through life and not live one chained down by his curse.
