Hey everybody, Rikku here. Coming to you live-ish from the secret pirate base! No spoilers. But it's really not as scary as you might think.

I guess...I was just thinking about home today. Life here's not so different from what I'm used to, just a lot more seas. It's still been weird for me settling in, so I was thinking. Maybe if anybody else is homesick, we could talk about it?

I grew up on an island that was pretty much all desert. The people on the mainland mostly hated us, so we had to build our home somewhere safe that was hard to get to. We're still working on rebuilding it, actually, but...it really wasn't a bad place to grow up. The sands felt like it were hiding all kinds of treasures. And it was so hot that getting to swim was really special!

Here's a picture of my favorite swimming hole. I know I'm not real great at art, but...just looking at this makes me smile, you know?

It's a little pond! A desert oasis where us kids used to go to swim when were done working.

I like most of the people, and there's all kinds of treasure to go hunting for! That's neat. But...yeah, I know what it's like when people won't leave you alone to work/

They don't interrupt my work much, but they sure do have a lot of it for me.

Treasure, now you're talking. I'm hoping to find some cool treasure too. Nothing yet, but there's got to be some, right?

Yeah! I always thought there'd be maps, but apparently they're pretty rare. You can't just stumble into finding it, you've gotta dig around. Maybe bribe somebody who knows a few secrets?

...I'm still working on it.

Awwwww no treasure maps?

Stories have seriously let me down. At least being a pirate is still pretty cool.

Yeah! No rules, no boss...just sailing free and looking for things that seem cool.

Maybe instead of gold and jewels...I don't know. We could take little mementos of all the places we visit?

Like souvenirs? That could be fun, I think.

Although the jewels sounds pretty fun too. I've never seen any before, not really.

Never? Aww, that's a shame. We'll just have to find some then! But I hear the competition's pretty tough.

Yeah, I can't really think of any way I would've. If my clan has any they certainly wouldn't let me near them.

Aww, really? That's not nice of them.

I would've shared...but I guess it gets tricky with a big armada, huh?

I guess, probably. Looks like we'll just have to find some. How hard could it be?

Not too hard if you play it smart, I think. Make some allies, find out about the old legends. Sometimes they're kinda true, you know?

You sound more experienced than me, I never went treasure hunting before.
