Hey everybody, Rikku here. Coming to you live-ish from the secret pirate base! No spoilers. But it's really not as scary as you might think.

I guess...I was just thinking about home today. Life here's not so different from what I'm used to, just a lot more seas. It's still been weird for me settling in, so I was thinking. Maybe if anybody else is homesick, we could talk about it?

I grew up on an island that was pretty much all desert. The people on the mainland mostly hated us, so we had to build our home somewhere safe that was hard to get to. We're still working on rebuilding it, actually, but...it really wasn't a bad place to grow up. The sands felt like it were hiding all kinds of treasures. And it was so hot that getting to swim was really special!

Here's a picture of my favorite swimming hole. I know I'm not real great at art, but...just looking at this makes me smile, you know?

That is how I got my first ship, in point of fact.

I'm more acquainted with the inner workings of airships, myself, but a sea-faring one shouldn't be so difficult to manage in the interim. It seems to me we may have a great deal to talk about.

I'd love to! Are you hanging around base too, or island scoping?

Enjoying the 'comforts' of our base at present, though I'd hoped to do some of the latter quite soon. Thought to try another of our many pubs for a bite to eat- not sure I'm up to the Gorgon's crowd today, entertaining as they are.

Yeah. If you want to make a good plan you've gotta be able to hear yourself think, right? That is so not the place.

I could swing by whenever! I haven't gone too far for the missions yet.

Do you know the pub down the way from the Leviathan's Maw? Much quieter, perhaps owing to all the unsavory deals being cut there, but I'll be there for a good portion in the evening. I'll be the gentleman in the gold vest.

I have blonde braids and a blue hair wrap and I'll probably wear some colored leather---I'll give you all I can, promise.

Noted. I suppose I'll see you there, then, 'mate.'

[Whenever she does make her way to the pub, he'll have chosen a slightly out-of-the-way table in a corner; the crowd isn't terribly thick at the moment, but there's a low din of conversation covering the place, giving it a nice, personable ambiance. He'll be seated with a map and an open leatherbound journal in front of him, making notes as he casually raises a short glass of something amber-colored to his lips.]
