Subject: Census Call

[ The screen would flick on, and man of Japanese origin would pop on screen, sitting at a desk that may look familiar to some. ]
Hey, this is Ryotaro Dojima, part of the Raiders of the Lost Arts.
[Ignore that Strabby with a pink bow walking around in the background behind him... ]
I've been here for a few months now, and I've noticed a few patterns talking to folks about where and when they're all from. Call me curious, but I'm interested in actually getting info of this, making a record-- a census, I guess.
So-- If you guys wouldn't mind telling me; where are you from-- town, country, planet even if you can, and what year?
If you don't feel comfortable posting your information publicly, feel free to private message me.
[ A pause as he thought, before continuing. ]
--To be fair, I can provide my own. I'm from a small rural town in Japan, Inaba, on the planet Earth. It was 2012 when I arrived here.
--Ah, one last thing. If you remember where someone who was here before but vanished is from, I'll take that info too.
[ Reaching to turn off the phone as he spoke-- ]
Dojima out.

Give him a sec to let him get his annoyance and incredulousness under control.
Okay. He was going to have to be a bit more prying with this one.
Deeeeep breaths. ]
Text 2/2
[ Neutral as possible. ]
Are you dealing with memory loss of some kind by chance?
Also, what's the level of technology in your world...s? compared to here? And any magic to speak of?
no subject
To here? It kinda depends on the world, but it sounds like a lot of people don't know about space travel here. We don't have magic... I think. What do you mean by magic?
no subject
Is there a name you go by that I can use? Just that is good enough for now.
[ Depends on the world... wait, space travel. Hooboy. ]
I'm going to go out on a limb and ask if you come from a place where travel between planets is pretty common, then?
--As for magic, I suppose my definition of it is Power that can't be defined by scientific principles. People being able to heal by just placing their hand on you, elemental attacks from your hands or weapons, summoning creatures to fight for you, etc.
no subject
I'm Stelle!
Yep! That's kinda my... job? To travel from planet to planet and help out! You can say I'm an explorer!
I'm pretty sure all of that has science behind it but I ain't no scientist... People can do that where I come from though.
no subject
...She was something like a cross between that Teddie kid and Rise Kujikawa... was all he could do was compare these people to the kids from Inaba, seriously? ]
So you're a space fairing explorer, and more or less the technology from your world is indistinguishable from magic, got it.
[ That was a pretty high level of technology though, to Dojima's mind. ]
How about this-- Are you in a solar/planetary system, or galaxy that has a name? That could work too for the info I need. And even just the planet you 'woke up' on can work as a basis, or... just one you'd like to live on.
no subject
It's called Penacony, the Planet of Festivities! And it's in the Asdana star system!
I feel like you're looking for a place we call home though. For me, it would be the Astral Express. It's the train we ride on the star rail to get to different planets. That's my home.
1/2
[ Instantly, Dojima's mind flashed to that one comic he remembered reading as a kid, about a young boy and tall, elegant woman flying through space on what seemed like an endless train, visiting different worlds.
Nah. Couldn't be, right? ]
2/2
So Herta Space Station, Penacony... Asdana Star System. I can make note of all those, plus that your home 'base' was the Astral Express.
[ That was good enough. He thought. ]
--Was all the planets you visited in the Asdana Star System, or did you go to other ones too?
[ ...And for her being so considerate to share all this, he might as well too-- ]
--Where I'm from, Earth, we're the third planet in a single star Solar System, made up of 8 major planets and several dwarf ones. To our knowledge, we're the only planet to support life, or at least, sapient life. But we've only gone out as far as our Moon to explore into space with human's onboard the space crafts, and that was before I was born in the 1960s.
no subject
[ Pretty cool right? The only space train in the universe, she'll have you know. ]
Technically, I've only visited two planets so far... Jarilo-VI is in a different star system. Herta Space Station orbits the Blue, which is also in a different star system, and the Luofu is part of the Xianzhou Alliance, which is a fleet of huge spaceships that people live on.
[ Ooh, Earth sounds so cozy and rural. ]
That sounds nice! I guess all this space travel talk must seem really crazy to you, huh?
