Hey, this is Ryotaro Dojima, part of the Raiders of the Lost Arts.

[Ignore that Strabby with a pink bow walking around in the background behind him... ]

I've been here for a few months now, and I've noticed a few patterns talking to folks about where and when they're all from. Call me curious, but I'm interested in actually getting info of this, making a record-- a census, I guess.

So-- If you guys wouldn't mind telling me; where are you from-- town, country, planet even if you can, and what year?

[ A pause as he thought, before continuing. ]

--To be fair, I can provide my own. I'm from a small rural town in Japan, Inaba, on the planet Earth. It was 2012 when I arrived here.

--Ah, one last thing. If you remember where someone who was here before but vanished is from, I'll take that info too.

I'm Nimona. I come from the Kingdom. It doesn't have a name, and the world doesn't either. The year seems to be more advanced than most peoples! We have flying cars and laser weapons. Well... I guess I should say that I'm the only one here from my world.

My friend Kotori, she was from Japan, but I don't know where or the year.

[Daqiang had been more than public with his own origins before, but since this was a formal request...]

This venerable one is from the Ninth Youxin County of Cangyanhai, in the Three Realms. This venerable one is uncertain if the year in Cangyanhai would matter for you as time in the mortal realm moves differently than in the immortal realms. Additionally, the mortals are known to change the measures of their time every few centuries.

[He's not actually sure what the mortal year would be at this point. And the immortal measure was... well, often measured by the span between big events.]

[Oh? Now this does sound pretty interesting.

And so Heizou replies in video, smiling politely at the camera with his chin in one hand. Besides the wine-red hair and green eyes, he does somehow look vaguely Japanese. There are even a few elements of his attire that appear to be reminiscent of traditional Japan.]

(So like, Earth, but a weird alternate Earth. Also yeah, they really do have that as their username.)

[ Oh, he's seen this one around. Mischievous and always looking for... well, 'fun', he supposed?... Couldn't she also transform? He had a feeling he'd seen.. something like that? ]

--So you had some pretty high tech stuff... any magic to speak of?

[ He should've asked that too from the start, come to think of it. Well, he can do that in the responses. ...And make a note to ask no matter how mundane the person may seem. Looks can be deceiving. ]

And Kotori was from Japan... do you think the tech from her time was like it is here, or closer to yours? Did she mention anything about that?

I was raised in Arbiter Hall, Shuiyuntian, in the Three Realms. I was taken to live in Cangyanhai with Daqiang. The Mortal Realm moves faster than the other two, but there are many things in this world that I never saw when I was there.

Would you say your world had a lot of what would be considered magic in this world compared to others you've heard of here?

[ He could guess, but best to get it straight from the source. ]

[Because honestly, why not. Hardly mattered that much here.]

Yes. Both magic and what is known as 'cultivation'. Much of what can be performed through cultivation in the Three Realms has been observed in this world to be done by magic. Some have mistaken this venerable one's power for magic when observing it. He is also talented at magic.

[He would not publicly admit to there being some magics he had no talent with, but most of the crew were aware of where his talents generally lay.]

[ Huh, playful looking guy this one. If he saw him back home, he'd assume he'd been from a mixed marriage... and that outfit... ]

[ It was actually one of the places he was interested in, since there seemed to be quite a few people from the world that country was located in...Teyvat, right. ]

Yeah, that helps a lot. Two more questions though-- for where you lived, how advanced was the technology compared to this world, and did you have magic?

[ He could guess what it was, based on what Kaveh had, but... ]

So you're part of Dongfang's crew, huh? What's that like?

[ She lifts an apple and crunches on it. ]

Yeah. Though, you know, the Kingdom still has knights that wear armor and use swords. They're just sometimes also using laser weapons like crossbows and flying vehicles. As for magic... [ Nimona points at herself. ] Just me.

[ That same hand makes a so-so motion at his next question. ]

Kotori knew what food trucks were and how to work a phone, but her world didn't sound like either mine or this one. Maybe something that doesn't have any magical or mystical stuff, because she said she had no powers and was so different from most people here when we first met.

Dunno, dunno, dunno, uhhhh I think it was Trailblaze Year-- [ Insert a six-digit figure starting with 2 here, thanks Hoyo for NEVER PUTTING A SINGLE DATE IN TRAILBLAZE YEARS. ] And it just became 2158th Amber Era if that matters.

Both good questions! The technology in Inazuma is a bit behind in some ways compared to the other nations in our world, and certainly quite behind much of the technology I've seen in this one. These shellphones, for instance, are still something of a marvel to me! On the other hand, there is elemental energy in our world that can be harnessed in a way that I'd say many people call magical. It was very common for engineers to combine that magic with their developing technology.

[Squinting hard at the crew name because why does that sound vaguely familiar????

Another survey? One that doesn't dwell into their personal lives... Their REALLY personal lives that should only be kept to their bedrooms ~~cough cough alhaitham cough cough~~. Ranma doesn't see why he shouldn't answer and try to help out.

He turned his video feed on, currently sitting atop one of the buildings in Eltrut — he was busy doing some jogs and roofhopping by the time Dojima made his census. His end showcased a raven-haired braided-pigtailed teen of Japanese origin, even if the blue eyes and his attire — a red silk tangzhuang — might lead one to believe otherwise.]

The name's Ranma Saotome. Currently, before I ended up in this place, I'm living in the Nerima ward of Tokyo, Japan. That's on Earth too, though can't say I've ever visited or even heard of Inaba before. Unless it got established later down the line, cause it was 1994 when I got here.

[So either there's time-travel shenanigans going on, or alternate universe shenanigans going on. Either way, that's bound to be a confusing quandary.]

--Might as well as specifics. I know you have some tech considering your little robot friend, but if you could give info with comparing it to this world, and the magic abilities from your world too, I'd appreciate it a lot.

I'm going to go out on a limb and ask if you come from a place where travel between planets is pretty common, then?

--As for magic, I suppose my definition of it is Power that can't be defined by scientific principles. People being able to heal by just placing their hand on you, elemental attacks from your hands or weapons, summoning creatures to fight for you, etc.

A lot more advanced, though our phones can't access our internet equivalent like these do.

Medical tech is pretty advanced though. It's not really magic but people can get superpowers through drugs or cybernetic modifications.

I can tell you more later if you want.
