I've noticed that people around here like surveys and I thought I'd join in on making one! Some of you may know that our first year anniversary of our arrival here in this world is coming up real soon. Like two weeks - give or take a few days. So I thought I'd see who else has been here as long as I have! I feel like I've seen at least most of the "veterans" once or twice and if we haven't talked yet:

2. Are there other people from your world here? (Optional: How many?)

6. Are you here to live out the rest of your life, or are you looking for a way home? (Optional: Why?)

I'll answer it first!

1. 16 days away from a year.
2. Nope!
3. Like briefly one person on new arrival day and then never again.
4. Ghoul's Moon.
5. Same answer as above. It was pretty fun fighting all the undead. I guess the Masquerade Ball was pretty okay, too.
6. Maybe? I dunno, this world is a lot better for me than my own.

5. What's been your favorite "event" so far? Some were better than others? I'd never had a ball thing before though. I guess that was alright.
6. Are you here to live out the rest of your life, or are you looking for a way home? A way home. I have people back home needing me. My abilities. I have a duty to help so. I have to get back. Besides that I miss Mikleo and the others. Not that I wouldn't miss everyone here that I wouldn't have been able to meet back home.

I feel like that all checks out from what I know of you already.

Also, do you ever feel like we got ripped off? Everyone else gets these big events when they show up, but for us it was "Here's a new world, that's all you get!" If I could leave and come back willingly, I'd totally pick the coolest event.

The dragon island event was very awesome, it's true. I felt right at home among them.

3. Haven't seen any sign of them, so just gotta assume none of them popped up yet.
4. Winterstide, or whatever they called the Christmas-y tradition here.
5. The recent one with the Abyss opening up was pretty fun. Been a bit since I've had to trek for several days.

Oh, this is kinda fun.

1. I've been here since October so about nine months?

4. ...I'm not sure why event is in quotation marks? There was the pumpkin carving festival?

6. It's a world with a lot of appeal, and I do treasure the people here...but there are still people waiting for me at home, and too many things I left undone. It would be nice if there was a way to visit, though.

Would you want to see anyone from your world?

I didn't really do the Abyss one, sort of just vegged out on my ship last month. What was it like?

There was a bunch of these levels, getting harder and harder the deeper you go. I made it to the end, but all there was at the end was a lousy bench. Buncha hard work all for nothing.

Several could mean like three or a hundred. It's not like we're the first Riftfarers to show up here, but if you wanna be secretive about it, I'm not stopping you.

When I feel like being one, yes. Also a girl, a boy, a bear, a wolf, a bird, and any other animal native to my world.

Haven't you noticed that once a month something big happens? Ghost Corsairs, Festivals, the Toy Island, Merpeople home, the Abyss - stuff like that. It's like a pattern. Every month, something big happens and every other month we get new people.

If you ever want me to keep an eye out for them, just message me privately. I'm pretty good at finding people.

Ooo a mysterious bench at the end of the Abyss. Did you sit on the bench?

Something is always happening once a month, so it didn't really occur to me.

Every two months there's new people...come to think of it, I'd noticed, but I suppose it never really clicked.

I mean, something is always happening - life doesn't just stop, but this place seems fond of holding a big event where everyone of us Riftfarers can get involved if we want pretty regularly. I noticed a lot of it is also start mid-month, not that there isn't other things outside of that pattern.

[ But not everything is happening in the space around Kaveh during those patches! ]

I'm not really the sort of person who takes actual notes, but I've got mental notes! I've been keeping track of when new arrivals show up. If you showed up during Ghoul Moon, then that's almost ten months.

Right, though you won't need to search long. They tend to find me sooner or later.

[The amount of times Ryoga just happened to wander accidentally to where he was, or Shampoo to come crashing in on her bike, and what have you, he'd wonder if they have some kind of tracker on him.]

Yes. Before you ask, it was an ordinary bench. Wasn't even a magic or cursed one. Just a boring, oak bench you sit on and nothing else.

Seems a bit rude of the bench, honestly. Like it wants you to reflect on all you had to do to get through the Abyss or something. Who wants to do that?

[ She really can. So Nimona will insult the bench with him. ]

Exactly! What kinda sappy, self-discovery-type nonsense is rewarding when it could've been something cool like a weapon or powerful technique or food!

Are there a lot of people who just crash into your life back home?

[ It sounds like there are some that he actually likes, though! If he wants to see them. ]

(They've got a few of those at home. It's not a very common boost--more likely for the necessary changes to kill a person during the boosting process--but there's a villain capable of turning into a bird...)

However, back home there is John and also a lot less water. (And part of him does miss his brother despite how bad their relationship is.) ]

Eh? Ripped off? I don't know. I'm not sure if I'm that worried about arriving to something that big. It was enough to adjust and all when we got here when it was quieter.

You're a very open guy. It makes you likeable!

Think about it, it doesn't make us more relatable to the people who did arrive to something that big. We can only imagine what it's like to show up and bam, skeleton pirates!

Did they return with memories of this place? I know someone who went home and came back with no memories of this place. I'd count them.
